Please call this hack Super Metroid World!

Something about that Yoshi though... while I know exactly how tedious it is to change the graphics for something that big, I think you should at least put his highlights a bit more "into" the picture... the one you have now looks cookie shaped (i.e. flat and round at the edges).

Well, I'm not done with the tileset, but you guys had plenty of time!

Polls are closed as of right now...
The results: Remake - 5
                Full Hack - 25
                Sucks - 4
                Other - 2

And the winner is... the full hack!  (big suprise...)

And with it comes a cool new name!  Super Metroid World: Rainbow City!
More details as they come, I'll try to update at least once a week...
Post #1 will have any released tilesets, etc that I will be giving out.  If I change a tileset, it will be updated on that page, as well as in a new post.

On that subject, yes Yoshi King is a little plain, I guess I should spruce him up alittle more, huh?  I'm not very good at sprite work though... maybe later... this will just be a filler for now.

You know what, I tell you what (uncontrollably giggles for on apparent reason)...

Rainbow City, huh? Make Rainbow Road from Mario Kart (yeah, it may remind you of uNsane's picture on the shots thread, but that was striped)! Just make some colored tiles, and a starry background (closest I can think is the Layer2(?) from Super Mario Kart).

He did change Samus' palette to be brighter and go better together with the environment...
Changing Samus into Mario wouldn't just be a ton of work, but would also kinda ruin this hack IMO. I mean, there's nothing special about Mario being in Mario land. Samus going there is what makes this interesting Very Happy

Interesting.  Also loving the bob-ombs=bombs thing.

Though I still think Red Mushroom = Energy Tank and Green Mushroom = Reserve Tank.  Perhaps make Varia into a Yoshi egg, since Yoshi gives Mario protection from certain hazards in SMW.  Or perhaps the Tanooki suit, since it does the whole statue thing.

PBs should definitely be P-switches, and either the Supers or Missles should be throwing hammers.

And though I realize it's a bit too late now, but Croc would work so well as Wart from SMB2.  You could even revamp one of the beams into the "Wood Beam", which shoots Vegetables and is the only way to damage Wart.
