Look, witty text!
Wouldn't the Pirates have to have been to SR-388 before?  I mean, where else would they have gotten any metroids to begin with?

They raided a Federation supply ship from SR388.

Close enough :P

After you leave the ship on Bryyo (where you get the map), you can see Rundas on the left. I only noticed it when my friend was playing, I always grappled across too fast to notice!
Oh, I noticed that the second, third and fourth planets all have progressive levels of technology...let me explain.

On Bryyo, you have a more primal, more tribal society that's making various revelations about schism and science (I'll need to read the Bryyonian logs closer), as you might see in ancient times. On Elysia, you have a sort of steampunk vibe, early robot designs that look as though they could very well rust over if left unchecked, and the whole place working by gears and clockwork. The Pirate Homeworld goes completely futuristic, and it speaks for itself. I thought that was a pretty cool progression going from ancient to futuristic, looking back on it. Granted it doesn't really work when you feature Norion and Phaaze into the equation, but they bookend the game's planets so it still counts for the middle ones.
thing i noticed:

in the intro scene, as the computer is going awry before cutting onto dark samus, there is a blue screen for a second.

maybe samus encountered (insert dramatic fanfare here): THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

sheez...even in the future, microsoft sucks.

In the command room of the GFS Olympus on either side of the helm console are two platforms. Each platform has two holographic images that will show Samus' ship and the other three hunter's ships, but I don't think that they're labeled.
