I'm still playing. I have yet to finish. I could beat 4:00 if I tried my best. I'm one of the good players. Just need to learn a bit more. like the short charge.....

Are you talking 100%? Because that"s what his run was.
Is there any chance you recorded your run? I'd really like to see your route choices.
Don't waste your time exploring ALL the areas (wandering around), remember all the item and guardian locations, and the most important don't enter to Tourian if you forgot something. Before entering Tourian you'll need 300 Missiles (Last 10 Pack is in the escape) 30 Super Missiles 30 Power Bombs
And of course have all the 14 energy tanks, 4 reserve, and all the other upgrades.
If you found any possible Early item/guardians try to get them, that will save more time.

If I wanted to yes. But currently I'm just doing any%

You've only just started playing it, and you think you could beat four hours already? You do make me chuckle.

On your first playthrough, I think something between 6-8 hours+ would be more realistic (without cheating), esp for 100%, and that's if your pretty damn good.
Which is funny, because I think it took me something like 10 and a half hours my first time through and I only had something like 51% in the end. So either I'm just slow or else it takes a bit to get really good at Redesign. Both seem like they could be true.

Yeah I guess I am being way too generous by sayin 6-8 hours now that I recall my first playthrough being like 20 hours or so.
That was without a map, but I did watch a few you tube vids on the hells run.
Yeah, I had the map and even then I had all sorts of issues when I was playing. Granted, Redesign was my first ever SM hack (or hack of any kind for that matter) so my time may be skewed by having no idea what to expect from a customized game. And yeah, I used a ton of savestates as well so I don't know how much time I really put into that run, but that doesn't count on the game clock.
There has been no other hack before or since that stands up to Redesign. There are no other ones that I would actually sit there and play for 20 hours without losing interest and blaming the lengthy time on the hack not being designed well. There were no parts where I got lost and had to blame it on something that nobody would have ever thought of. It was non-stop exploration - if you came to what seemed like it might be a dead end then you moved on to any number of other possible routes and had fun doing it. I <3 me some redesign, and all this talk of it is gonna have to make me pick it back up soon. I think I have played through it about 20 times, and I STILL don't have the map/route completely memorized exactly. I can remember what item I need to get next and how to get to it, but I still can't completely figure out certain parts of southeast Maridia and Lower Norfair without getting a little confused - but I don't seem to mind when that happens because the game is so great.
Maridia and east Norfair seems to confuse the hell out of me. Chozo guardian locations are also fuzzy for me. I'd play this again if I had a emulator that did lag every 30 seconds... Damn Snes9X
Made it to the PB's from Croc, but I can't seem to make it out, I can't run-mid-air morph there, so I trust the dragon, but still ain't working, DAMN YOU DRAGONS! >:(
For the main game you only ever need to do some double bomb-jumps. The only difficulty with those few is that you have to ensure you plant the third bomb right at the peak, as you'll only just have enough height to get out. Of course, make sure you test all of the shafts, as you can unmorph in some of them, and mid-air morphing is always easier than bomb-jumping.
I did some serious work on it and got to Speed booster, and Wave beam. Now I tried going through the Caverns to Phantoon, but I can't. I'm thinking I still need to be in Norfair? Also, is therre a high jump in this game, or is it with Wall jump?
Hi-Jump boots are in this hack. You'll probably need the Hi-Jump to get to the next area, as wall-jumping up the shaft is a bitch without them. Now that you have the Speed Booster, you can also get Spazer, which is in the lower left-hand corner of Crateria, and the X-ray Scope, which is near the elevator back to Crateria. Hi-Jump is in Brinstar, and to reach it you'll need to go through the door that is 10 (I think) map squares to the right of where you fought Spore Spawn.
Much like the original game, Tyjet, as long as you don't head to Tourian, you can always go back, so I'd just create a save when you think you're done, and then complete the game. If your percentage is off, then continue searching. Good luck.
