Quarantine Monitor is a small room that connects to the Thardus room and contains a missile expansion. When you enter the room, you hear a rumbling sound, and if you look up real fast you'll see a large cover moving over to reveal the sky.  Does anyone know what this is about?  Is there any significance?

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
I never noticed, but sounds interesting, I'll have to take a look at it oob some time.
AFAIK, it only does it the first time you enter that little room - so if you've already gone in there then it won't happen.

Well considering the game is 9 years old I doubt there is much more to find sequence breaking wise. The only major improvements we'll probably see will be when Dolphin's TAS tools actually work well and Dolphin TASs are accepted. Once that happens I'm sure there will be at least 2-3 new discoveries (I know someone mentioned early PB by bomb jumping up the pipe in Magmoor caverns and I know it is possible from using AR codes). After a few TAS runs though I'm sure this forum will begin gathering dust.

Anyway about this thread topic:
Here is the video that shows this: http://www.metroid2002.com/early_missile_quarantine_monitor.php
The ceiling moving looks pretty intentional but yeah there is really no reason why the ceiling moves to reveal the sky. Maybe a developer was testing some event triggers or something.

Well, at least until another metroid game comes along, if the franchise survived Other M.
