added the two final boss themes and changed the first post so that it links to the directory i created for the music (http://nate.metroid2002.com/echoes_music/). all music will be added to that directory in the future. note that if you don't want the final boss spoiled, you probably shouldn't go there, as i used the name of the final boss for the filename of his music.

Thank you very very much, Nate!
I'm a bit dissapointed of this Hunters Tune... too agressive, I liked the Brinstar smoothness.

sorry about the lack of spoiler warnings, but thanks for the songs. they sound great. :)
Hunters is my favorite from this game, but I always have a strong preference to intense/battle music.

I believe that the music that randomly starts to play right before something big and bad happens is the music from the entrance to toroia from super metroid.

The last time I heard it in-game was while you were walking through the section in Sanctuary right before you see Dark Samus destroy the bridge.  I don't think it plays when you walk back that way a second time.  It definitely plays in several places.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
That's Dark Samus's theme.

How do you record this? I already wanted to record some Tracks from the Super Mario Sunshine Soundtrack (some I don't have... the "onYoshi" Background Music) but my Computer just has too low... arrghh... on german it's called "Eingangsimpedanz". It's unit is "Ohm" , or the big greek Omega.

Resistance, methinks.

sounds more like Impedance to me :?

I'd be happy to record whatever you want from SMS because I have a great recording setup. (I recorded the entire sound check from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle) I bring my GC to my computer, hook the video into my Canon ZR70 (I could use a TV, but I don't have one near my comp.) so that I can see what I'm doing, then hook the audio into my computer's audio input with a few neat pieces of (very cheap) equipment.  At the bottom is a pic of my setup.  The RCA-RCA converter is simply a row of RCA jacks that I soldered wires to in a way that the far left and right are connected as with the far right and left.  I get game rips with perfect audio quality even though the wires are not shielded.  The other thing I use is called a "Y-cable."  It is basically a headphone (stereo-mini for you audiophiles) plug on one end and two RCA plugs (left and right) on the other end.  Being a guy who likes his sound, I have about 10 of them lying around.  The iMac DVs (my computer) were made for multimedia so they have CD quality audio inputs and outputs.  I use a program called Sound Studio for OS X, which is an old program (released about the same time as OS X itself in 2001) but it still works well for audio.  You can record into it and it will generate a waveform of your audio which can then be edited like text with the insertion point and selections of audio.  I use it to record the sound, normalize it (basically adjust the gain so the softest point in the song is very soft and the loudest point is the loudest it can go on that volume setting) and export it as an AIFF to be compressed to AAC or MP3 in iTunes later.  It really works well.

Hmmm... Koji Kondo is ingenious, he's the master.

Blindfolded Mario Pianist…  He's COOL!

I also recorded all of the Take 2 songs into mp3 with Audio Hijack Pro (www.rogueamoeba.com)

Now about those Super Mario Sunshine tracks…

All the recordings sound great.

I think it would be awesome to get the entire library of the game.  So when I'm not playing (and sucking at it) I can at least entertain myself with the music.

Thanks guys, you rock.  Literally.
cool converter, usbcd36.

i think i have that theme. if you want it i'll post a link, but i dunno if i'm allowed or something.  :?
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
I just have a Y-cable that my system's red and white plugs plug into, then it goes into the input/microphone on my computer.

Actually he's not this guy... and playing Piano blind is not so difficult, I can do it. But Koji Kondo is the writer of all Super Mario Soundtracks (but not Mario & Luigi, Super Mario Land and Dr. Mario, so also other spinoffs). He also wrote all Zelda music. I love his music.

So nate, when can we expect new MP3s?
whenever someone requests another. i guess prime hunter quasi requested the menu music, so i'll get on that tonight sometime.
if you get really bored, hook me up with the pirate battle theme. It's way better than in the original..there it was more annoying than anything.

I also kinda want Torvus/dark Torvus.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
I made a request a couple days ago...then again I could make it myself.

Edit: Made it myself.

...I kinda missed the hand symbols for the beams, though... (argh)
arg, i'm about to leave for my parents' for thanksmas break, and i can't record there ... so scarlet will have to fill in for me if y'all don't want to wait a week for your requests. terribly sorry about that.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Here's 4 more; I tried to get the Super Metroid Theme, but apparently it is a sound effect..so it'd have all the stuff that goes with that.

i'd be happy to encode that for you...

uploading it now. just to verify, its the title screen music you want?
lol no way
I think she means the music that plays during the trooper scene.
Yeah, the Super Metroid theme remix is what plays when Samus accesses the GFC terminal and reviews the log of what happened to them.

heh. silly me Embarassed

No, that's what http://www.metroid2002.com/redscarlet/Metroid%20Prime%202-Title.mp3  is.

When you reach the GFAC compound, a cutscene starts, and it plays the Super Metroid Theme during it.
But when I went there trying to record it, I turned sound effects off, and there was no song during the cutscene.  So it appears that song is actually a sound effect, which means if you want the song, you have to get the other sound effects playing too which is dumb.
I noticed that the Federation Trooper flashback music is actually an almost direct (though abbreviated) translation of the orchestral performance available at the Metroid Database here. I knew I recognized that song from somewhere!
