Yes, but I think that there are items that are easy to miss if you don't seach for them I never would have found the Screw Attack if i hadn't gone and looked for a way to go through that tunnel in the backround of the Ridley elevator, and the power Bombs are quite easy to miss, IMO.
I went through my first time following all the chozo statues directions. I always play the game without looking at any guides or 1337 boards like this first. and how the fuck do you miss powerbombs? you have to be braindead, because the easiest/intended route throught he pirate frigate shows you 3 times the pirate carrying them away into a door, just follow the guy. wtf?
You can get the supers in the Chozo ruins along with the missiles. You just need to start the spark near the entrance to the power grip room, and make sure you save the spark when you get the super missile tanks and use the ballspark to get the regular missiles.
Well the tank in Kraid and the power bomb tanks in Norfair, and the 2 Tourian tanks are certainly off limits, but other than that, it should be quite possible to get all the tanks before fighting Mother Brain.
On a side note, I am going to try to have a little fun with the game and see if I can swap all the tanks around without manually changing them. All I would need to do is fiddle with the block data, which I just recently found. Imagine swapping Super missiles with Energy Tanks? The items would still be in the same area, but what you get would be changed.
Without bombs, you probably couldn't get most of the other early items because you can't bomb jump. Unless I'm wrong and you can actually get them without bombs at all....
Well I just finished a run where I caused it to happen that the hidden tanks were all changed around. For example, all hidden power bombs became energy tanks, and all energy tanks became power bombs. All missile tanks became super missile tanks, and vice versa. With this arrangement, 4 missiles were unaccounted for, which meant a 96 percent. If I go and replace 4 out in the open super missile tanks, it would be balanced, unless you count the fact that you can now backdoor chozodia and thus screw up your game.
I'm 99,`9 % sure that you can't get to the Pb tank w/ Walljumping. Bombjumping is impossible. You can Shinespark under Lava, but you can't Speed Boost there (I'm 60% sure that you could get pretty far with Speed Boosting and Shinesparking....if you could Speed Boost in lava...just btw....)
Now go find Blue Suit,f00L!!1
And I don't think the lava would be a problem(unless you are playing on hard)
You can have
235 Missiles(94 on Hard) before Tourian.
You can't get: Missile Tank in Kraid,´the "Zip-Line Skip Room" You need: Gravity Suit, Speed Booster, High Jump
-Missile Tank in Tourian You need: to destroy mother's ugly face and come back later
-Missile Tank in Chozodia You need:to destroy mother's ugly face. And missiles.
-9 Energy Tanks(= 549 Energy on Hard)
You can't get: -3 Energy Tanks in Chozodia: You need:to kill mother and some Speed-Boosting skills
You can get: 0 PBTanks before Tourian.
You cant get: -Pb Tank in Tourian You need: kill mother....
-6 Pb Tanks in Chozodia You need: Kill her! Kill her!
-Pb Tank in Norfair You need: Gravity Suit
-Pb Tank in Crateria You need: Shinespark and Power Bombs
You can get: 14 Super Missiles (7 on Hard)
You can't get: 8 Super Missiles in Chozodia You need:
Wierd, you can get almost everything before Tourain :) Still, it would be bad for Speed Running. The reason for this is that you get most of the missiles after the 200th faster with Space jump and gravity suit and etc.
