Random thought: Could the PBG be skippable?

What exactly is the trigger for the Dark Oasis key? Killing the guardian, or acquiring the main PBs?

If we only need to kill the guardian, that early Power Bomb in Temple Grounds could be picked up, which would make the early half of the game much easier/faster.

As for escaping the room, you could either open the door to Undertemple Shaft (top of the steps) beforehand, then use your single PB to escape normally, or double bomb up to the door from the track and use it at the peak, hopefully opening the door. Then, just grab a refill off the Inglets.

It just seems bizarre to me. The PBG and Dark Oasis aren't related in any way. Why would a boss half a world away cause a state change in one arbitrary little room? I'd have thought that defeating Dark Samus 1 would be the trigger, if anything.

Dood Trigger™
Maybe the PB Guardian is the trigger because you're supposed to come back from Sanctuary Fortress with Spider Ball, and PBs are the last major upgrade acquired in Torvus. Or in other words, the last major event.

That could be the event they needed to change the state of the room, just like how the Artifact of Warrior in Prime 1 (Phazon Elite) doesn't appear until you acquire main PBs. I'm not sure, though, just a guess.
It's collecting the Main PBs, not just defeating PB Guardian.

Getting the Main PBs does more in Dark Oasis than just add the key; mainly, it makes ingswarms appear over the water. I guess they didn't want the ingswarms to show up before you're able to access the center of the room, and the key not showing up until then, as it's in the same room state, is a somewhat unintended side effect.
Ah, suppose that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

I think its could be happen if someone will find some crazy wallcrawling skip keys. Then you can skip all other skytemple keys too. Yeah thats Darkoasis key never appeared if you not kill PB guardian and pick up mainPB.

This game is so broken, so im not going wonder if someone will find way skip all skytemple keys. But thats not happen yet. Good luck with this.

would not surprise me if the key exists before you get light suit or before you get dark visor or something like that. if there would be something different which would probably make it disappear. maybe someone should mess around with it with action replay.
It wouldn't make sense. We know the room has one state change in response to progressing through the game, and that change is what places the Flying Ing Cache into the room. It is quite inconceivable that they would intentionally write in an additional room state and state change trigger just in order to place the Flying Ing Cache there and then remove it at a time when players wouldn't be able to access it anyway.
But retro

you sometimes have to do weird things in order to fix crashes in games.
i dont know why it would potentially crash if one key would be missing but it would not be the first time a gamebreak wouldnt make sence.... maybe the cache is also somewhere out of bounds and theyre just moving it inbounds after youre getting the power bombs, who knows, would be an amazing time saver though....

Based on what I know, none of the STK's which are under water appear until you get the light suit. And skipping light suit you can't. The light suit is the trigger for the under (poison) water keys. I thought guys like you could figure that out?

On the topic of sequence breaking:

If it were up to me, all of the Metroid Prime games would be officially ported to PC operating systems (without the use of emulators), and all of these anti-sequence-breaking measures would be removed.
And of course, they would take advantage of being on PC rather than console, and you could quicksave and quickload without a saveroom (but saverooms would restore your health and also give you a password to share with other people, and this password would let you get a headstart when creating a new file).
I kinda like consoles, so I'm personally against PC taking over the video games. I see it as two worlds. PC games for PC (like FPS games) and these games for console. The feeling is so different. I can't imagine playing a Metroid game on PC as little as I can imagine playing e.g. Serious Sam on a console. Not the way consoles and PC are so different today. Maybe on some future system with a lot more interactivity. Or if the make consoles smarter. It'd just take making it able to install and load any software.
Serous Sam is on console -_-

If sequence breaks were focused on by Retro, then you'd get random crappy fixes like mp3 and other m. Do we seriously want stupid gameplay changes where you can't jump again if you touch a wall, or you can't get hit by more than one bomb in the air, even those near the ground?

I said I would have all of the measures removed that were put in place to prevent Sequence Breaking :P
I wholeheartedly support sequence breaking.

Duh. I know. That's why I took that as an example. I've already mocked the 360 gamers about it. IMO it's a strict PC game.
