A Gamefaq's user who goes by 'transience' recently achieved a run of 29:46. So, congrats to him on finally breaking my record. Unfortunately he does not have a Gameboy Player, so he can't record anything.
So, you guys can expect a new run from me sometime in the future. I guarantee I will get a 28:xx.
Are you emuraping or just emulating, Mr. Aran? The difference is that an emulated time is one you can still be proud of, and could feasibly get on the GBA. Emulated runs may not be okay for SDA, but they'll still command some respect around here because they require genuine skill.
The other kind, however, gets no respect and deserves even less. :)
hey Scarlet, GC04, others - I was told I should come by here, so here I am. I actually showed up in #metroid yesterday but no one was around. I wish I had a way to record my run, but I don't even have a gamecube. I'm working on a new run - I'm 20 seconds up on the 29:43 pace in Tourian. I'll at least find a digital camera and take a picture of my time when I finish this one. I'm hoping that'll make my record last more than four days before GC04 wrecks it.
*smiles* 1:22:59, at least according to my time attack. I just get bored of 100% runs, I haven't tried one in months, I don't have a path laid out at all, and I generally run right past items out of habit. I should really improve this. basically, I'm the anti-scarlet. :)
I doubt 29:43 will last me a week. I completed the run in one day, so there's a good amount of mistakes in it. 28:xx is definitely possible, but you're gonna be working on it for weeks trying to get the right amount of skill and luck.
Do you want to improve it,because I'm working on a walkthrough that can at least get your normal 100% past 1:18. And if you care,my normal 100% is 1:08:34.
the only walkthrough I need is a 100% video, and I've got one of those. those are infinitely more helpful than any kind of text. right now I'm concentrating on my any% time, and it's doubtful I'll be working on my 100% any time soon.
If you didn't know this, you can just run out of the charge beam beast's room after you kill it, and get the charge beam on the way to norfair, saving time by not having to wait for the charge beam beast to give away the item in a 100% run.

no offence, of course :)
Heh, someone else advertising my run...saves me the work of having to do it myself!
