Easy Any% 0:48.58 Kraid before power grip. It's my practice for a Normal, then a Hard Any% speed run. I'd like to get my time below  0:45.00

You beat the game on normal, then afterward a little S symbol will be there at the right of the file (on the Samus Data screen). Choose the record, then say New, then Hard.

I've got that little screw attack logo, but hard mode is still not an option on that slot or any other.

What does the Fusion uplink do, and can someone send me a save state of it available?  I don't own one GBA, let alone two :)

The Fusion Link unlocks a bonus picture gallery.  As for a save state, I'd honestly like to know how you can get one with the Fusion link if you're using an emulator.

The gallery is all of the fusion ending pics, including the funky japanese ones showing samus's childhood. Plus a couple other strange ones, like samus fighting ridley (don't worry, it's not that cool) and boxes of a fake MF action figure set.

To see all the important ones, go to http://vgmuseum.com , look at endings, and then metroid fusion.

A friend of mine has a GBA cartridge with a USB link.  You can put any game on it (as long as no custom hardware, duh), you can also take savegame files off it, and even use it to save states like on an emulator.

I just did my first hard 100% speed run and got 1:39:xx. Now the only ending i'm missing is 15% hard Laughing . In the 100% run I followed RS's route very loosly. I'm working on an any% run following gamecube04's route and I have 6:36 at the first save point in Norfair.

Down to 1:02:13 Normal 100% single segment. All on tape too.

Did a run today that I swear seemed faster (ie. I had 2 MAJOR screw-ups in the 1:02:13 run that cost me almost a minute and a half combined), but only came out with a 1:03:00.
I'll also note I had a friend of mine here watching the 1:02:13, and we both thought when I finished that it would be like a 1:04 or a 1:05...I can't really figure out how it was that low  Question

That happened to me when I did my 1:09 I had two saves in Tourian's first save station, one at 0:45 and one at 0:46, the latter became the 1:09, the former ended at 1:10. Confused the hell out of me, I did everything the same in both runs exept the 1:10 was a % lower.

And bob, I believe your sucky run was faster because of randomly dropped super missiles and/or Boss fight screw ups. I'm not sure though.

Current record: 46:42 @ 15% normal. I started over, and I'm at 36:58 before my fully powered suit, so I'll definitely beat 45 minutes!
