Shocked Is Samthedigital going to be the new record holder?
When I try for the record it will be done segmented because I think that I can get sub 56 easier that way. I am doing single segment runs more for practicing consistency than anything else.

I just noticed, there is no hard SS, hard 100% SS or 100% Segmented on SDA.
Difficulty: Normal
Percent: 100%
Time: 1:08:33

Finally learned how to Diagonal Bomb Jump pretty reliably, so now I can cut out that extra trip to Norfair for the Power Grip. Now it is just a matter of doing everything faster and saving less.

I'm trying to do a hard any% run, but I can't get much faster than like 2:3X at the end of the hive room. I tend to get 4:17 or so entering Kraid, and I don't even get Long Beam. :^( I do take Charge beam, though, and it does feel like it helps. But still, I'm not sure if I'm just not shooting fast enough or something. Spidey gets under 2 minutes on Normal, but missiles don't make THAT huge a difference, do they? 40 seconds is a lot of time.
1:17:19 on time attack (sucky, but it was my firast speedrun ever. Rolling Eyes
I got 60% of the items

2:19:38 100%

suck on that, bitches

Maybe by "100%" he means collecting all the ending pictures, too.
...or maybe it's 2 minutes, 19.38 seconds
twenty eight fifty
you guys think i'm better than i am. hell, i had to go to gamefaqs to find out where some items were.

i also did a quick any% and got 32:55
3-32 hours ?! How'd you did that ? My last quick any% was 1:66 ! And I got 100% within 3 hours !

No, he beat it in less than 32 hours. Unless you mean to seem shocked to see such a short time. In that case, check out the speedrun sometime, and I might find some neat tricks that can help you beat your best time of an hour and sixty-six minutes. You might even beat 2 hours! :^o
Oh...yeah. Make sense. I'm not really surprised to see a time like this, since I could do something around that. My best time is not an hour and sixty-six. That's the time for my latest any% run. I was lazy and got some items I could avoid. I think my best time is 53:32.
56:04 100% Normal with 7 saves

Without a doubt with this run I should get 55:18 at the very least, but I don't get a good time at the 8th save so I skip it and end up with a time that isn't really proportional to my times in the rest of the run. >_>

Very nice. This actually beat both Dragondarch SS and my own best run. You surely can go sub 56 minutes. I know it might be very hard. Well done with this.

Hmm, 40:0x to 40:1x after Power Bombs in the middle of Chozodia (same place that you save, MASTER-88) is probably the best I could do with my current save point time. It is 29:30 before Mother Brain (when I do a recorded run though I won't be as sloppy during certain segments, so this will probably be better). Do you think that it is enough to sub 55 minutes?
I had 40:40 at that point in a 55:36 run, so yes, but you'll have to be fairly quick.

Is it recorded?  I wanna watch.

I am going to record my next run when I get recording equipment. It should also be of much better quality in terms of speed. I won't be as sloppy (even though my run isn't that sloppy right now). And that's only if I can get a world record. It's not worth recording if someone does it better than I do, and I think Spidey-Widey might be able to get better than me.
Do you use save stations ? If you do, just delete them from your route. Saving is a waste of time.

A consistent SS is really hard to pull off though.

There are more things other than consistency that can affect the overall time in a run. Anyway, I think that using 5 saves in total (no more) is better than using none at all optimally because it allows you to abuse some of the more luck driven parts whereas it would be more frustrating to do so without saving. There's also some tricks that can be done in a segmented run that wouldn't be possible in a single segment run.

The Angerfist of Zero Mission? :^/ If not, just randomly saying "saving takes time so you shouldn't ever do it" is a pretty lame joke at best. If you're not even joking, then it still sounds like a pretty ignorant statement. Just saying "don't mess up so much, stupid" doesn't actually help at all. If you think you can beat his time in a single segment, go for it. If you've never bothered before and never intend to try, don't pretend you understand the challenge.
