Ok, I now have gotten every single ending (all 8!). Weee.. Here are most of my times:

Difficulty: Normal
Clear time: 1:19:22
Item Collection: 56%

Difficulty: Normal
Clear Time: 1:17:59
Item Collection: 15%

Difficulty: Hard
Clear Time: 1:32:04
Item Collection: 15%

Difficulty: Normal
Clear Time: 1:47:10
Item Collection: 100%

Difficulty: Hard
Clear Time: 1:50:18
Item Collection: 100%

:D There are a couple more, but most of them were just built off those files. These are also all on the cart btw, not an emulator (so no save states or anything like that)

Well Sarah, hopefully this weekend, if my game thumb stops acting up, I'll have a Game Boy Player video of the game; right now I have a better time than what I did (but nothing under 1:10 like Dave's).

screw 9% thats just impossible

done with the aid of speed boost and screw attack plus some extra super missles

by the way i used savestates like a siagon whore... thats why i didnt make a video

Crappy compared to all of you:

Easy - 1:15 with 64%
Normal - 3:40 with 56% <---1st time playing the game
Hard - 2:10 with 67%

shut up, I had to do all those missle expansions >_< then I went and got the rom after I beat it because I find that some of the tricks are easier with a keyboard because of hte design of the d-pad, but then I remembered that I don't have any room left to have the L button... a very important button indeed...

I won't go for a 100% speed run any time soon, those 2 missle expansions in ridley will be just too hard to get in one go without savestates >_<

BTW if someone could recommend a good control set up, I'd really appreciate it.

my current controls:

left shift: jump
z- shoot
x- the R button >_>
arrow keys- D-pad
enter- start
space- select
? (as in I don't know what to use, currently 'A')- L-button

Well, I made it to the last save, 1:08:08.

So no < 1:10. :/

Oh well, hopefully I can pull off a 1:11:xx

Last segment I'll do tomorrow, it's uber late and my thumb is very dead.

W = Up
A = Left
S = Down
D = Right
NumEnter = Start
Num + = Select
Num 0 = L
Num 3 = R
Num 1 = B
Num 2 = A
Num . = Toggle speed up

Works wonders for me. ;) More for the fact that basically, it's the same setup used for controllers, so you'll be able to react more quickly.

Try this:

They make these things called "Interact Propads" that cost exactly 10 dollars and last about half a year, and they're almost as good as a SNES controller. I have never played an emulator with a keyboard for more than 1 minute, that's insane.

Anyone who has tried Gravis Pro or whatever its called know that they are absolutely dismal, they don't register cardinal directions with any consistency. I also tried a few Microsoft offering which were even worse.

1:07:04 normal 100% single segment. Uses vba 1.6a and the usual Dave settings.

I know a guy who just got 9% on normal... took him 1:57:57, but it was his first try so I assume he's gonna get that lower.

I did several normal runs with a natural route (ie picking up items in the order they were ment to be attained without skipping any )
