Heh, yeah, that's sort of the "out of the box" thinking test. Some players just try and try again, while others figure out the easy way to do it.
BTW, who did figure out that trick without being told? I did...
I know this may or may not be the appropriate place to ask but do you need a specific version of VBA to watch this without it going out of sync? I've never had any of the Fusion vids on the site actually play right and stay in sync. I didn't plan on getting the ZM ROM but I have to see this video XD

Isn't it impossible to get that energy tank by space jumping over to it? Or since people around here like to do the impossible, wouldn't it take forever? On the downward fall of a space jump, just before hitting the jump button to spin back up in the air so that the trough of my space jump cycle would coincide with the place the vertical laser blocking the upper part of the room was, I'd always hit the laser spanning the floor.
I didn't really interpret as "why should anyone else try," as I did "I haven't seen any others." Which may or may not be the case. Using your movies as an example other than Dave's (not singling you out by any means) I hadn't seen anyone else's 100% speed runs myself up until I caught the properties of your posted images leading to http://www.metroid2002.com/redscarlet , and there's where I saw your runs. I guess maybe he, like me, just didn't know that other users had sub-directories here where they could store vids. And maybe, like myself, he hadn't sought out anyone else's speed runs. That's just my interpretation, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers or anything.

I managed to do it. It took forever and involved a lot of savestates; I doubt any sane person would be able to do it on the GBA itself :P

i still haven't figured out how you people shinesparked over to it, i tried that... repeatedly, and never once got over to it... i would love to see how thats possible, but i don't have an emulator and im never going to.
but, spacejump over it i did....three times in fact, on a GBA.. after the first time it wasn't so bad, i just kept forgetting to go back and save after i got it, but before i fought mecha ridley on my 100% hard. (it was my last upgrade needed)

I just open the hole, then get another running start to the left, store the charge, hop down to the ledge at the bottom and then drop off. Just before you hit the laser hit Right+A and you'll spark mid-fall. I could really use some explaining classes >_<
