I think that I might have found another early missle tank.

It is the missle tank that is in the top of the second really high tunnel, the tunnel in which it leads to norfair at it's bottom.

I just infinite bomb jumped up to the top of that tunnel.

If that's the one I think it is, then it's already known. You have to get past two zoomers to get it, right?

Still, good work on finding it yourself. It's tricky with the zoomers in the way. Usually takes me two or three attempts before I get it without hitting a zoomer on the way up.

Damn, I thought it was going to be an undiscovered trick, yeah, anyways, I did have fun finding it myself.  I really love to infinite bomb jump :).

Also, just a question, but I am having trouble getting the varia suit early, can anyone help me with that series of infinite bomb jumps?

for the early varia, try laying one bomb at a time, as if you were doing a Hbj. just lay one every time one explodes. thats what i do. I call it the NBJ (noob bomb jump).

you can lay one half way down from the blast too, and it goes much faster.

Yeah, I tried that, I just can't get the diagonal one.

Say you want to dbj to the left. Lay your bombs just like normal, but just after laying the first bomb, roll very slightly to the left. When the first bomb explodes, it'll throw you diagonally to the left. After that, hold right, and keep laying bombs like normal. The bombs will throw you to the left on the way up, and your holding down right will take you back to the right on the way down. All you have to worry about is the timing of the bombs, which is exactly the same as a normal ibj. You can even start ibjing normally, then switch to dbj in mid-air by moving very slightly to the left in mid-air, then holding right once you get thrown to the left. Once again, the timing on the bombs is exactly the same as normal. Obviously, if you want to dbj to the right, then you press to the right then hold left after the first bomb explodes.

All I can suggest is practice. Find an open area with plenty of room and no enemies to get in your way, and practice dbjing. I find it's actually easier then ibj once you get the hang of it.

If I can already do infinite bomb jumping, then why would I need to use the DBJ?  Also, I realize that it makes it faster, but I don't want it fast, I want it accurate.

Er, LoD means DBJ as diagonal bomb jump, not double bomb jump.  The diagonal bomb jump is used to get early Varia and undoubtedly other places.

Time bomb set get out fast!
I find I can actually DBJ without any special timing.  I start the procedure like LoD does, but then I just spam bombs.  It seems to work.

Now HBJing -- that requires timing.  I'm not even close to the level where I can do that.

One shall stand, one shall ball.
The HBJ is just ridiculous, I can get half way across the room that Acid Worm skip room then I lose the timing, just getting it started drives me nuts.

It's for situations where you don't have enough vertical room to fall sideways to your destination from an IBJ.

I almost reached the ledge which needed a DBJ with just an IBJ, I just got about 1/8th of an inch from getting on top of that ledge.  Then from there, it seems to work out.

That ones easy, I get it almost every time. Though it took ALOT of practice. You may not be using the right method or using it correctly. What method do you use?
