I am giving my vote to the original, the flame rings seem more annoying in that one.

What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Metroid's is the hardest battle, I'd say.  All you get to stand on is a one block wide zebetite canister with more cannons and rinkas coming at you than I'd care to count, and if you fall in the lava between your platform and Mother Brain, you ain't coming out very easily.

The original, even though I haven't played SM.

Breaking through the barriers with the donuts is hell, even though Mother Brain itself is easy.

I voted the for the original, cause I always had a hard time getting out of the lava once I fell in(and I always did). Super is second, because of the battle with mother brain when she has a body, and ZM is last because it was just plain boring compared to the others.

Also, it's pretty hard to get out of the lava right beside the Mother Brain's tank in the original Metroid.

You need to jump on the right spot near the tank, then morph into a ball, plunge in the lava's direction and do an unmorph jump. It's easier said than done, with the Donuts of Hell smacking you.

That's another reason that I voted NES Metroid.

Except for how you pretty much can't lose against the Super Metroid mother brain. It's by far the easiest.
And as for ZM, that just depends on what kind of run you're doing...
