I searched around for this info, so I apologize if there is a similar thread.  Does anyone have any pics (or a link to pics) of MP: Corruption being played on a bigscreen HDTV?  I'm just curious what it looks like.

i doubt my camera can do good screen grabs.

I could try later tonight if I have time. Is a 42" television big enough?

That'd be great.  Anything besides a standard tube TV is what i'm looking for, possibly in 480P if you use component cables.

dunno if that's exactly what you're looking for but i thought i'd take some real fast anyway. please disregard the flash on the second one. that's a 32" samsung, quite a nice unit if i do say so myself. game experience is great too -- graphics not very jaggy and plenty of detail you can't see on an old analog.

Eh, I don't have the necessary component cables to trump nate's pics yet (will be getting them for Christmas), so I won't bother. ;)

Thanks Nate!  8-)  I'll be playing on a Sony 60" XBR1 LCoS tv, I can take some pics on my digital camera if anyone wants me to.  Are you using component cables?
Anywhere, everywhere

Heh, I don't think Norion is quite the best place to show corruption's graphical prowess. Wink

yep. so that aspect ratio is correct ... i'm assuming you can't get 16:9 on composite or s-video out of the wii.

yeah, sucks, i left my wii in lubbock (i'm in kansas at my parents' for xmas) and so i had to start a new file on my sister's wii. so busy playing persona 3 and watching anime that was as far as i got. i also played resident evil 4 on it some - very nice stuff there, all kinds of detail i never noticed before.

You can; I've been getting 16:9 using composite for months.
not 4:3 stretched right?

You can only get a 480P signal using component cables (already got mine!).  I think you can get 16x9 with any cable though.

If anyone else is playing MP: Corruption on an HDTV (using 480P/16x9) take some pics and add to this thread! :D .  Here is a link with MP: C in 480P/16x9 :

Correct. Like Metakraid said, it's just not 480p.
everybody knows it's true
I can still use my GC component cables, right?

no, the wii has a different plug

the wii's component cables are far easier to get though.

It's not about availability I'm worried about, it's having to get new cables. I bet I can't sell my GC component for the 60$ I bought them for.

you never know. the cables were super rare so you might find a good deal somewhere.
they might also become a collector's edition item in the long run.

i got those cables back in 2002 with a bunch of stuff. their price was like $40.

Both Nintendo and third–party Wii component cables are $35. Bought some yesterday, and I can definitely see the difference, particularly in Corruption and Galaxy.

lol I tried taking pics with my sister's camera, and they turned out terribly. Either her camera sucks or I'm a terrible photographer (probably the latter).
To be fair, though, the fact that the Arm Cannon is constantly moving due to the controls makes it damn hard to get a good shot. Dunno how nate did it.

Here they are anyway; second's a bit better than the first:

i have three hands.

Heh, I didn't try holding the controller and taking the pic at the same time–– that would be a bit ridiculous. I tried having my sister aim the remote, which turned out to be a bad idea, as she does not have "video game" hands. Eventually I set the remote down on a table and propped it up with pillows. Still didn't help much. :P

iirc, if you just put away the controller, the arm cannon will center itself and the pointer will be different.

that would work unless you want the regular pointer on-screen.

Oh, yeah... forgot about that. ;)
Hey guys - I just got my Wii, and have a question.  I have wii sports and wii play, and i looked online and it says both of those games should be 16x9.  They are being displayed as 4:3 on my widescreen tv.  On Wii games, do you have to manually set your widescreen tv to 16x9 mode ?
red chamber dream
Depends on the game. In Sonic And The Secret Rings, there was an option I had to change from 4:3 to 16:9, whereas Corruption changed it automatically. Try looking around for that option somewhere.
