I was just reading through the Trooper logs, and came across one that said:

I'm the only one left. Managed to get out of the hive, but when I got to the ship, everyone was gone...dead.I'm heading for that alien building we saw earlier. Maybe someone can help me there... Wait, something's moving down there. Hello...?

What do you think was down there? I seriously think it was Dark Samus. I mean, if it said "Hey, its Samus!" I would have totally been convinced it was Dark Samus. Anyway, what do you think it was?

that's the guy who's blocking a morph hole, right?

i bet it was either a splinter or a wasp.

Well, they destroyed Dark Splinters with a couple shots. Those are like 5 times stronger than regular splinters. And a War Wasp takes less shots to kill.

Maybe it was a Space Pirate. There are 2 possible reasons:

1) The dark version of the room before the elevator has Pirate Commandos. And Space Pirates know how to travel between worlds.

2) Later in the game, GFMC Compound is infested with Space Pirates. So they could be around at the time.

But it could also be Dark Samus who was floating around at the right place and time. Just my thoughts.

I think it was a whole bunch of War Wasps. He killed some and destroyed the hives, but the rest got him.

I think I know what it is. He said Hello and the transmission ended. He was in a Morphball hole, so it couldn't be a War Wasp. It either had to be a bunch of Dark Splinters/Light or something I don't know about. I wish the transmission was this:

Came back to the ship, everyone was gone...dead. We saw an Alien type building, and I'm heading for that. Hey wait, look, it's Samus!

That would have certainly made it Dark Samus.

I don't think Troopers are colourblind, so if he saw DS, he might notice something is terribly wrong... But the fact he says 'hello' gives away he saw a humanoid. So there are 3 options: Dark Samus, Space Pirates or a (possessed) Luminoth(very unlikely) It couldn't be Splinters because there are no Splinters in that room and they cant open doors. The only monster that could have killed him are War Wasps(or himself)

I think it was a Dark Trooper. He said Hello, so he thought it was a Humanoid, as you said.

Saying that =/= human. You say hello to things like dogs and cats, so he might just be comforting himself. Weird capitalization od "humanoid", though.

He saw something moving and said hello. Could be anything. Don't forget that the Dark Splinters you fought at the GFMC Compound got there via portal. They can also climb walls, but don't often demonstrate that ability.
EDIT: Heck, for all we know, the Emperor Ing could have used its ability to create portals to attack him with its tentacle.

I think Dark Troopers are to stupid to open doors (just look at them!) As long as they don't see an enemy, they'll dance on the same spot all day long.

I don't even think he saw what it was. He probably just ghetto jumped up the boot shaped rock, went through the door, looked down the crack, seen something move, and when he turned around something killed him. I'm more interested in the trooper who dosn't believe in Samus.
