Yea it's probabaly just within human skill limit to pull off but worthless trying for ordinary mortals who are very, very good at the game like us.
I actually pulled off a torizo skip today funny enough. This is also bloody hard on console. I would very much like to use one in a future run yeah, but we will see. It might not be even need to reach my target times.
Forgot that The PAL has the Torizo skip, but if you compare the dificult of both, Torizo it's harder to pull off than the Pre-Draygon Shinespark (NTSC). But it saves more time too.
well a pre draygon shineaprk on NTSC is easier than a torizo skip on PAL for sure. But torizo skip would save a bit more time. There is an issue with torizo skip though. Finding somewhere to get your 5 missles back for waver room in brinstar without losing too much time. The bats can be very unreliable sometimes. I guess the best place to ge them back would be the spiky crawlers in the big ramp room
What about you 072, are you planning a speedrun or something?
An NTSC run, yeah. I'll at least try to get that :31 I always wanted. I know that I'm capable of :30 but I'm not quite ready to take on that task again.
I completely forgot about the missile dilemma for skipping torizo. Well, it isn't really a dilemma since any time refilling them is going to be faster than torizo. Where do the TASes refill their missiles?
I see... I'm doing a any% savestate + realtime run for NTSC just to see, with the new tricks, the possibilities. I'm looking in every room to see if there's a faster way to pass too. In the end i'll try to explain the better way (in my opinion) to do the harder tricks.
there isn't one. unless you want a amaturish one that I did last year, which would be due a retake as new tricks have been discovered since. I got 32 minutes completion time, and an NTSC one which was done in 29 minutes, hense me saying the 3 minute time difference all the time LOL
-Before the Wrecked Ship, to manipulate Phantoon's patterns -Before Botwoon/Draygon, lots of difficult or luck-based tricks and to manipulate Draygon's patterns -Before Ridley, to get a good fight and to not have an insanely long segment at the end.
The problem in my opinion is the last segment will be too long. I honestly would save one more time, maybe in that save you pass in Norfair after the long corridor with the speedblocks, or in Torian's first save, so you can try the Metroid skip and gain back the time you lost in the last save. And the run will be full of inovations.
