Best game ever = Super Metroid
I haven't had the chance to play this game yet for many reasons but seeing as how it's a sequal to SM I really want to considering SM is my fav game of all time ever. I looked on youtube for a final boss fight, just something I do for new games that interest me. I found one saying Phantoon was the final boss.. is this true? I mean he would make a great boss IMO seeing as how Phantoon in every aspect has a creepy/dark auora/feeling.

ANKOKU
He's the extra boss.

There's an actual Final boss before him.
One that's basically scripted, another that you atleast get to fight somewhat through.

He looked pretty scary just the thought of him scares me, and we all know that is the only boss people have had complaints about ever... being the most annoying and all in SM..

Queen Metroid is the final boss.  Just to save you the frustration now, use a Power Bomb when she swallows you.  Yes, they will be "authorized."  No, it won't tell you so in-game.

Temporarily authorized, you can't use them immediately after the Queen Metroid. But you can use the again in the epilogue.

Haha, really?  I didn't even bother to check.
Yup. Thats the reason why it never shows you the message. I mean, it would be kinda rude to Power Bomb the only survivor left on board.

I'd do it anyways, but, you know, not all of us are as crazy as me.
The wandering Space Dragon
Phantoon fight is extremely fun. The highlight of the game, IMO.

it's fun how the PB only damages the Queen's room but everywhere else it just detonates without anything being destroyed outside special walls and awakening the PB guys

oh, and Phantoon was the only boss where i felt i really needed the extra energy tanks and ammo. i can't imagine him if he was reachable in hard mode.
LOL, and what sort of video game doesn't include weapons of mass destruction that do zero damage to your environment at all.

i just felt it was inconsistent to have it do that damage and later become standard weaponry. they could have left the room undamaged and only break those cylinders that you could use to get behind.

You should try doing a low% run sometime if you're curious about that. Going at him with only two extra e-tanks and 11 missiles is as close as we're going to get to a hard mode battle, and that's arguably when the fight becomes the most fun in my mind. It was challenging enough for me when I got there under those conditions, but I had a blast with it since I was forced to dodge and pay attention to the situation rather than simply stand in the middle of the room and fire away at him like I did the first time I fought him when I was at 100%.

hm i see. i'll get to that when i replay the game. it's been like 2 months already since my last run and i was curious about how 3% feels.
Yeah, I haven't played the game in about two months as well. Really should get back to it sometime soon.

But as far as the Phantoon fight goes, to me it's one of the few times when playing on Normal difficulty where it can become a challenge if you're doing a low% run once you get to the point where you're learning some good strategies for the enemies and bosses. (Ridley and Nightmare weren't that much of a threat to me anymore the last time I played because of this. Not sure if it would be the same for you, but once you know what to do against them they aren't as hard as the first time around.) Even when I knew what to do against Phantoon, simply dodging all of the fireballs and knowing what time to strike proved to be harder than I expected, but that added edge of knowing you have to be playing your best to survive makes all the difference in my mind.

I could be exaggerating a little based on what I remember of my battle, but even so, it was probably the most fun I had fighting against him.

having in mind that the only other place you fight him is in super, and he is super annoying, yeah, mom phantoon is way better...
True, but I was referring to the four or so times I've taken him on in Other M at this point. The time I had the most fun in that battle was during my 3% run. Even having 6 or 7 items like I did in two of my other runs gives you a slight advantage since you can grab an extra e-tank or two and some accel charges. But when all you have is 2 e-tanks and an extra missile, THAT is when your skills are really put to the test, at least in my opinion.

Man, now I'm wanting to play Other M again and go take him on.
When I beat Phantoon on my low % run, I got hit once.  I was very angry but at the same time I felt awesome.  I've never gotten that close to beating him without getting hit again.
