More newbie questions from me... sorry guys. I'm trying to do my first recording of a run and even though I thought I had all the hard parts outta the way... but yeah evidently not.
I know that SMV files are made my capturing button presses and stuff, and I know that they can start acting weird if control settings are different from computer to computer. But last night I recorded five SMV files. All the of work fine from beginning to end except the first one, where after getting the bombs it looks like I fell asleep on the keyboard. Does that mean that file is ruined or can I salvage it? The odd thing is most of the other movies are longer, and one is shorter, and they all work. Except this one. Seems a bit random.
Now I mean, I dont really mind the first segment screwing up since that's easy to rerecord, but I don't want it to happen again like after Draygon or something.
Not that it really matters since I started the ROM today and found that - even though I saved quite a few times last night and reset the game each time to check my time and restart the recording of my movie and it worked with no problems - my the save file was gone. Reset back to what it was before I started the run (a 1 minute file right after Ceres). Quite odd because as I said, I had saved and reloaded many times last night... and it's the same ROM cause my other games were still the same... so... yeah, really pisses me off actually and makes me want to say screw it to the whole operation.
I know there are some Snesx-recording experts on here so if anyone could give me some hints as to stuff I could try... thanks a lot.
EDIT: Oh! And does anyone know the best way to set up my AVI recording settings so that the sound sync's correctly?
