Oh, I would love to get some challenge from Draygon!
Mini-Kraid and that Orange Zoomer were both pretty weak after all. :)

(Which reminds me, LOL at all the small enemies that dont die from Charged Ice-Wave-Plasma beam, but they do when... well, you know  :D )

I would love ot make him (her?) challenging, but anything I could do would've already been done. If anyone has any good ideas they're willing to share, I'd be willing to make the change(with a personal tweak of course). I already have an idea for botwoon and Golden Torizo.

Also, I'd like to get a general consensus of how hard is too hard for a regular version of a hack (keep in mind I'm not aiming for Impossible level, I just want players to like it while still presenting a challenge for masters) and how easy is too easy for a hard version.
Well, too much spikes is always overkill. Well, at least ensure some free movement in the floor level, the walls and the ceiling are okay as long as there is enough space to move around. Also do not set the damage/health values too high, because then it just becomes tedious.

I liked the idea of rising lava during the fight, but maybe that is not something to be implemented in every boss. For Draygon you could prevent the player from destroying those side cannons, though you could let them destroy one or maybe two.... that is just a little tease, not the main point of the fight like it was in Impossible.

Making bosses a lot faster is not a good idea either, because it is just annoying, not "hard".
It might be hard to implement, but how about putting some sort of vulnerability timer or something? Kind of what Kraid and Crocomire have, but maybe in a little different way. (though I cannot think of a concrete example to give)
How about trying different vulnerable places, such as "only head shots count"? I think they might be hard to code but I don´t know anything about coding so...
Too many spikes are the main reason (besides the WS diagonal BJ) that I never finished Impossible, so I agree there. I was actually thinking of
doing a similar thing for Draygon as I accidentally did in the gauntlet, except with acid. That way, it wouldn't be like insta-death, but would still add challenge, I would of course, also block off the turrets.

I like the different vulnerability idea, but I can't code... Head shots ftw would be very cool.

I do think you'll like the changes I'd make to Golden Torizo and Botwoon. As soon as you let me know about the little changes, and I think some more about changes I already wanted to make, I'll work on, then release the hard(er) version.

IM NOT GOING TO BE FORCED TO MOCKBALL OFF A SWING AM I??????

*Throws his damn controller away in disgrace "What a loser I am"

Ever since I started playing RPG's, my reflexes for games like this have gone down the toilet, and my mind will refuse to focus on these games nowadays.

Um.... ok then. I'll assume you mean off of a grapple, and the answer there is no. You do need to mid air morph off the grapple, then roll slightly under the tube, hug the wall, then dash (That is, if your
In the Maridia acid room
). Is a grapple mock ball even possible because of the grapple slowdown?

Yes I am in the
super sized acid room before Draygon
, and is 6 E tanks enough to fight him?
It really depends on your level of play skill. When I was testing, I once got to him with 3 etanks... but i used the grapple kill (which, between him hitting me and the grapple drain, almost wasn't enough energy). If you destroy the turrets, and dont get caught unless you plan on using the grapple, 6 e tanks should be fine. If it ends up too hard, grapple. Sorry if that room made you think you had to grapple mock, which after some testing appears to be impossible, which is a shame, because it would've made a nice addition to the hard version in the works.

Meri Kurisumasu! ^_^
I just defeated phantoon. The way to the old gravity suit is blocked by a grey door. The only way to Maridia is through the acid, and I doubt I can survive that without frame advance. What is my next destination?

EDIT: My asset:

Charge
Ice
Spazer
Morph Ball
Morph Ball Bomb
100 Missiles
30 Super Missiles
20 Power Bombs
Varia Suit
HI-jump Boots
Screw Attack
Speed Booster
Grapple Beam

Is gravity suit next?

Are you outside in the upper lake area? If so, prepare to meet my genius.

Try refilling on those bugs.

edit: Congrats on spazer before wave.
Also, I'd advise not going throught the acid to Maridia. It used tot house the Springball, but now its a dead end. The acid is to deter. The noob tube is the way to go.

Bug in sm mockball room. You get stuck here if you go into the super missile hole. Also, what is the use of the crumble block in the second pic?

Yes... unfortunately. I hope you had a savestate before it. If not, I'll have the newest version up tomorrow. It'll fix that room, and make the optional Botwoon very very hard, but its ok, cause he's optional. I'll also change the Maridia back door.
Oh yeah, I can´t wait for the new version!

Also, Bolognab, that crumble block is meant for something, but you will enjoy it more if you figure it out yourself.
Is it possible to do something with the block with my current equipment?
Every Bit Counts
No.
I'm a little surprised people have said minikraid was hard.If you're having trouble, jump behind him onto the door ledge, that way you only have one spike to dodge.

Every Bit Counts
He's not hard, just tedious.

I'm stuck.

You should kill ALL the enemies in that room to open the doors.....  :D
Every Bit Counts
Yeah, just found that out.
Bug: you can get deliberately stuck after getting varia by mockballing into where the item ball originally was.

Ok everybody. Its the version you asked for, (No, not the hard one) Version 1.2!!!!

In it I have fixed the mockball supers, and the back door Maridia.

And for those of you who have finished the game, or think you're tough enough, Botwoon is now harder. I had 8 E tanks and still had to CF twice. Aren't you glad he's optional?

Anyway, there are other small changes that I won't say them, but I think they help the hack without making it too much harder/easier.

Note: I left the varia and gravity rooms the same. The only item in either of those rooms is the suit, so DON'T GET STUCK! (Or, if you insist on getting stuck, don't complain)

Another note: I have moved some items around, but only within their rooms, only for some of them later in the game, and only in rooms where they were in the same spot as in the original SM.

I'm stuck in Lower Norfair; the first room where the chozo statue is blocked by speed boost blocks. There is no obvious way to proceed.  My guess is that I need space jump, but I haven't found that one yet.
do you have version 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2? If the answer is 1.0, then you're stuck and you need to leave that room, savestate, download 1.2, then load the savestate into 1.2

If you have 1.1 or 1.2, then look around, the answer is quite obvious actually.

or if its not:
Time for an acid bath!

I'm playing 1.1. The problem is that I can't seem to find a way to maintain the speedboost/shinespark all the way to the chozo statue room. Although I already found a solution, it still required frame-advance to be executed.
What, you were able to
load the shine in the acid? I loaded the shine near the elevator and then shinesparked through the door. Of course I had to open the door first. But no frame-perfect maneuvers needed.

EDIT: I suppose you were... short charge to the rescue
