Also, how do you propose we climb suntower without Charge Beam, Super Missiles and Spider Ball?

Since ghetto jumps have been left intact, can one do the long float up Sun Tower?  There has been no mention as to whether holding Z when in certain corners causes you to float like with L in the GCN version.
I was being facetious, there's a SW method that actually saves time coming back.

I totally hate tyhe new phazon suit acquisition animation.  The old one looked much cooler like she was having a seizure.

haven't you looked at the version differences section in the site? all of those "changes" are stuff from the GC PAL version.

the only new things are the controls and SB fixes (and some removed effects).
In an any% run, would it be faster to pick up super missiles and spider ball or just wallcrawl from Gathering Hall for Wild?
If you can do it well the wallcrawl from Gathering Hall/Arboretum would definitely be faster considering you can nix coming back for it later in the game.
Yeah, probably. I'm now planning out an any% route and it seems it's mostly like the low% one. The differences being picking up charge beam, thermal visor and some missile expansions. Also an early powerbomb for early plasma and to go in the mines backwards to bypass the frigate.
Why would you grab thermal? The any% runs on GC don't even grab thermal.
IIRC, they do, for a faster fight against Metroid Prime. Just pick it up on the way back after Elder and it costs little to no time and it saves tons of time in the end.
You recall wrong, they don't pick it up because the furthest they go through the pirate labs is to get elder, it's an extra 6 rooms and an extra 6 back.
What? They go through the labs backwards so thermal is on the way.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
He recalls right. They do get Thermal. Watch the 1:03 run again.
I just watched it today o.O wtf. How I missed that I do not know.

um yes I have.  I wasn't aware that this thread was only for the discussion of NEW differences since it just says 'differences'.  I am fully aware that 90% of the differences I am seeing are not due to the trilogy disc but due to the fact that I have only played the original NA version.  It's new to me.
Uchicha, it is just all the differences from the original version of the game this was developed from (NTSC 0-00)
Is Energy Core's lock on both sides of the door or is it only on the one side?
Just on the one side. You can pass through it.

ok. my bad.
in his post it seemed like he implied the cutscene was brand new.  he should have worded it a bit differently ("the PAL cutscene is now here" or something along those lines)

making the topic mp1 GC 0-00 version vs mp1 trilogy version is a good idea since i bet a lot of people won't check the wii de asobu topic at this point and everyone is familiar with the US version.

It's just like how I thought the Grapple Beam scene was all new, simply because I didn't know they'd changed it for the other versions.  You should've seen my eyes as I watched. :P
It's still horribly epic. :D

i bet that 95% of the poeple that played mp1 on gc and bought the trilogy will have the same look.
after all, the stuff in the site is known by few people.

No prank, only truth.
Now that I think about it, going into the mines backwards saves no time whatsoever. Sure you'll avoid the frigate the first time around but you'll end up having to go through it the second time for Warrior. Enless spider were collected but that would cost even more time.

The low% route is by far the fastest route and should also be used for any%. Except in any% there will be powerups colllected on the way.

You can climb Ore Processing and walk to MQ via waste disposal.
No but there's still that big drop right before Ore Processing that you need spider for. The one that leads to the elavator.
