wat

The game came out 4 days ago, how can you have already solved them weeks in advance? Also, that's incorrect, you cannot beat the game without Spider Ball without using Secret Worlds. Also, how do you propose we climb suntower without Charge Beam, Super Missiles and Spider Ball?

I solved the rooms in the Japanese version.

I said I did a 26% game when the game came out skipping thermal visor, gravity suit and grapple beam and that all of these ithems could be skipped without secret worlds.

The japanese version is quite different from this version, I think you know that by now.

I thought you meant a 23% game, which would indeed require two secret worlds minimum to bypass both those items (Charge & supers for Wild, IBBF for spider)

Well, so far there is only two known differences. One being the invisible block in furnace and the second being GTH bars. Other then that they're the same.
I think it's quite evident they're different builds of the game; I.E. charge beam bug doesn't work in the japanese version.
Just noticed, you say in your update you solved Fungall hall A when I discovered that a couple weeks ago. I'll find my post about lower mines if you want.

I'm going to plan out a likely odd route for a 23% game in my head and I'm going to write it out down here.

Segment 1: Entire Frigate sequence, don't waste tons of time saving.

Segment 2: Quickly walk up to Chozo elevator, dashing everywhere, all the way to Hive Mecha, grab the missile, book it back to morph ball, TRY TRY TRY to get the fight skip, save in Gathering Hall.

Segment 3: Work my way up to ID, kill him, quickly move down to Samus' ship, ready for Early Space Jump

Segment 4: 3 attempts per run, as soon as I get SJ save.

Segment 5: Save back up at Gathering Hall.

Segment 6: IBBF. I know I can do this well so anything over 7 minutes is not getting accepted.

Segment 7: Chozo Ghost, activate World's thing for later, save at Gathering Hall again.

Segment 8: Flaahgra, then walk over to Gathering Hall AGAIN for one last SW endeavour.

Segment 9: I'm debating wether to try Arboretum's SW or Gathering Hall's SW to wallcrawl past the vines and do a Chozo Ghost fight for Wild (doorwarp into STA I think it is). This will definitely be hard and I will likely spend a lot of time on this segment, but it's infinitely quicker than floating 3 hours up Sun Tower. Save at Gathering Hall.

Segment 10: Climb Arboretum one last time to quickly go to Magmoor Caverns and pick up Artifact of Nature and Artifact of Strength in one swing. Save at Phendrana Shoreline's station.

Segment 11: Get Wave Beam, then nab Boost quickly on my way to Elder/behind Thardus then boogey through Magoor back to Samus' ship.

Segment 12: Go through Frigate Crash Site without Gravity. Not quite as easy as it sounds. Save at Main Quarry's save.

Segment 13: Main Quarry > Waste Disposal, then to Main PB, then backtrack, back up to GTH to get Artifact of Chozo and X-ray. Save at Ice Beam.

Segment 14: Go f*cking crazy trying to get Plasma Beam without Grapple and Spider (Grapple's the big bitch this time around) save at the same station again.

Segment 15: Get World and Lifegiver and climb frigate backwards to get to Ice Beam save.

Segment 16: Go through Wave Trooper Fight/Phazon Elite. Save at MQ.

Segment 17: Main Quarry > Waste Disposal again, save at Main Power Bomb.

Segment 18: All the way to OP, save before him.

Segment 19: Powerbomb OP strategy, collect Phazon Suit, quickly go back and nab Newborn and Save at MQB.

Segment 20: Climb MQB, PPC, and walk through Magmoor to get all the way to Tallon again, save at the Ship.

Segment 21: Ridley. Easy.

Segment 22: Metroid Prime & win.

Please inform me of any problems.

Also, I discovered the ontop of gliders (including in FGA) a couple years ago.

At the moment I'm saved at Gathering Hall before ID with 00:12 which is damn good considering that I had to fight the beetles and Hive Mecha.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai

Right, my mistake. The JAP version on GC contained that IIRC (It was a NTSC port, after all) so it would probably be in their retail as well. My point remains, they're different games and a discovery in one game does not carry (necessarily) on into the next. They're still different, despite their gameplay and such features they are clearly not the same game.
There's one big problem with the route. You need powerbombs for plasma now.
Thanks for pointing that out. I was thinking the whole early PB thing. Not doable in low %. D:
Wait, is the gate not BJable? I think I remember Sasuke pointing out, Jap release, that it was still possible
No it's not DBJ able, or obviously I'd do that.
T3 please post a video of your modded DBJ, SJF or not. I need something better than "it's just a DBJ with a spring jump in it" ok?
That's not how I described it. Somehow other people were able to understand what I was saying but I'll describe it one last time.

Lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball. I suggest just practicing this until you get the hang of it. You'll know if you've done it correctly because you'll go higher than usual. This is pretty well what the bomb jump is except your doing it twice.

So from the starting, lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball + lay another on the ground. At the peek of the jump lay your last bomb. You'll fall to the ground and this is when you spring ball right as the bomb on the groung explodes. If done correctly, you'll hit the bomb in the air and will have an extended double bomb jump.
I wasn't saying that's how you were describing it, that's just all I saw in the topic so it's all I had to go on.
There's still some problems with the route. Artifact of spirit and sun weren't mentioned and some small things that don't make sense. I'm fixing and changing the route a bit and i'll see what I can come up with.
Alright thanks, I composed the route entirely in my head so there were bound to be some minor things I'd miss.

Segment 1: Entire frigate.

Segment 2: Chozo elevator to Hive Mecha and missile launcher to morph ball, skip beetle fight. Save in Gathering Hall.

Segment 3: Up to Incinerator Drone for morph ball bombs then move down to Samus's ship, ready for Early Space Jump.

Segment 4: 3 attempts per run. Save at Gathering Hall.

Segment 5: IBBF. Anything over 7 minutes is not acceptable. Chozo Ghost, activate bomb slots. Save at Gathering Hall again.

Segment 6: Flaahgra. Save in Magmoor.

Segment 7: Pick up Nature and Strength. To Boost, wave, IS to get Sun. Quickly through Magmoor back to Samus' ship.

Segment 8: Go through Frigate Crash Site without Gravity. Save at Main Quarry's.

Segment 9: Main Quarry to Waste Disposal, then to Main PB. Save at Central Dynamo.

Segment 10: Through PPC. Save at Workstation.

Segment 11: Plasma beam, through Magmoor to Lifegiver. Save at Gathering Hall.

Segment 12: Wallcrawl to Wild, World. Save at Reflecting Pool.

Segment 13: Through GTH. X-ray and Chozo. Save in Main Quarry.

Segment 14: Wave trooper fight, Warrior. Save at Central Dynamo.

Segment 15: Lower mines to OP. Save in MQB.

Segment 16: Powerbomb OP strategy, collect Phazon Suit, backtrack to Newborn, climb PPC. Save at Workstation.

Segment 17: Collect Elder and Spirit. Save at Workstation.

Segment 18: Through Magmoor to Tallon. Save at the Ship.

Segment 19: Ridley.

Segment 20: Metroid Prime and win.

I think this route is better but please check for any errors that I might have made.
Not a huge fan of doing the Wild crawl later in the game but it does save time...
Good discovery in MQB without grapple and congrats on IBBF. Geo core seems to be the same to me as in the japanese version and I confirmed MQA without spider a few month ago, but then again it could have been fixed in this version. The trilogy should be in europe in a few days so I can confirm if its the same version as the US. I'm almost certain its the same. I think the japanese version is the fastest seeing the barriers in front of the Ice beam and gth bars.

How MQA? Vid and/or how please aiwebs_005

Edit: and I just realized you have me skipping spider, which I might do when stefan spills about MQA.

Edit 2: Wow, I forgot to add proof to my very prestigous claim of figuring out gliders years in advance: http://www.metroid2002.com/secret_worlds_frost_cave.php

IIRC, he jumped on metroids.

You might have discovered jumping on gliders but you didn't think about using it in Fungall Hall A. I did and I solved the room, unless you already knew about using this trick in Fungall Hall A.
I totally hate tyhe new phazon suit acquisition animation.  The old one looked much cooler like she was having a seizure.

Yes, the reason I tried jumping on that glider was to test to see if you could (and accidentally finding a SW in the process); I then used that for Phendrana's Edge and for FGA. Which I just realized should be abbreviated FHA. Weird.
