Christ. My internal map is out the window atm. You could do a wallcrawl from MQB to bypass that.
Still probably slower than just going through the frigate. Maybe it's possible to bypass the bars by getting into secret world in Great tree chamber (if it's still possible).
GTC SW required a ludicrously hard HBJ, not possible anymore. If you want to go ahead and try at the cost of your sanity, go for it.
I remember spending a very long time getting into that secret world in the gc version and I finally made it. Yeah, probably not possible in the wii version but i'll try it out.
Jagger ftw
They do go to control tower, then thermal.
A bit late but ok, thanks for clarifying.
This is how to do MQA. The vid is from zoidi's 1:17 old PAL world record. This trick is really hard btw.

If dashes and R-jumps have been removed, how did you do MQA without spiderball ? Did you freeze a metroid and jump on it ?

Yes I did. Sometimes it pays out if you watch old speedruns:

It is the most difficult trick so far for skipping spider along with the wallcrawl for wild. It surprises me that this is even discovered by someone. A dash seems so much more obvious, and dashes were already discovered back then cos zoidi uses Space jump first. This might be too early but I think picking up spider and supers in a speedrun is much faster unless somehow early wild can be done without wallcrawling.
Ok, I was just wondering. A video would be great. Also, wild can be gotten early and quicker via SW's than doing it normallu.
The best any% route I can come up with:
Segment 1: Entire frigate.

Segment 2: Chozo elevator to Hive Mecha and missile launcher, energy tank, missile expansion in ruined gallery. Save in Ruined Nursery.

Segment 3: Morphball and skip beetle fight, missile expansion in Watery Hall Access, charge beam. Save in Gathering Hall.

Segment 4: Up to Incinerator Drone for morph ball bombs then move down to Samus's ship, ready for Early Space Jump.

Segment 5: 3 attempts per run. Save at Gathering Hall.

Segment 6: IBBF. Anything over 7 minutes is not acceptable. Chozo Ghost, activate bomb slots. Save at Gathering Hall again.

Segment 7: Flaahgra. Save in Magmoor.

Segment 8: Pick up Nature and Strength, energy tank before Phendrana to Boost, wave, IS to get Sun. Quickly through Magmoor, missile expansion as you reach Tallon, back to Samus' ship.

Segment 9: Go through Frigate Crash Site without Gravity. Save at Main Quarry's.

Segment 10: Main Quarry to Waste Disposal, missile expansion in Elite Control Access then to Main PB. Save at Central Dynamo.

Segment 11: Through PPC. Save at Workstation.

Segment 12: Plasma beam, through Magmoor to Lifegiver. Save at Gathering Hall.

Segment 13: Wallcrawl to Wild, World. Save at Reflecting Pool.

Segment 14: Through GTH, missile expansion in Life Grove Tunnel, X-ray and Chozo. Save in Main Quarry.

Segment 15: Wave trooper fight, Warrior. Save at Central Dynamo.

Segment 16: Lower mines to OP. Save in MQB.

Segment 17: Powerbomb OP strategy, collect Phazon Suit, backtrack to Newborn, energy tank after OP, climb PPC. Save at Workstation.

Segment 18: Collect Elder, thermal visor and Spirit. Save at Workstation.

Segment 19: Through Magmoor to Tallon. Save at the Ship.

Segment 20: Ridley.

Segment 21: Metroid Prime.

It's identical to the low% route except for picking up charge beam and thermal visor and some expansions.
Disguzting homosapienz!...

That's not how I described it. Somehow other people were able to understand what I was saying but I'll describe it one last time.

Lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball. I suggest just practicing this until you get the hang of it. You'll know if you've done it correctly because you'll go higher than usual. This is pretty well what the bomb jump is except your doing it twice.

So from the starting, lay a bomb. As it explodes spring ball + lay another on the ground. At the peek of the jump lay your last bomb. You'll fall to the ground and this is when you spring ball right as the bomb on the groung explodes. If done correctly, you'll hit the bomb in the air and will have an extended double bomb jump.

you know I kinda realized something....
We havent given this new bomb jump an official name yet
Maybe we should call it DSBJ (Double spring boost jump)

Improved it a tiny bit, wallcrawl for wild before you leave chozo, saves a bit of time.

I don't see how it would save time getting Wild earlier. Getting it latter is on the way to World so it doesn't cost any time. When you get it earlier you have to go all the way back around to Gathering Hall because of the vines blocking the door in Sunchamber. Enless you know know some way to reload the room using Sunchamber's secret world.

DSBJ could work but replace Boost with Bomb.
So we've gotten two new bomb jump techniques out of Trilogy now.  DSBJ and ASJ (Assisted Spring Jump), though if DSBJ is the same thing as ASJ but can be performed anywhere, looks like ASJ is obsolete.  Damn, and I thought I'd discovered a new technique! Crying or Very sad

hey dont get upset lol.
I just wanted to give it a name.
What is asj anyway?
If it does the same thing players will still have the choice of doing whichever one they want lol.
It's a thing that happens during some boss battles.
I'm currently trying to flim an IBBF under 4 minutes. Not easy, considering that the GC WR is 2:53 (but that also warps into crossway)
Wow that would be amazing. It was hard enough for me to just make it through in the Wii version.

Also, why do you find it faster to get Wild early on?
You don't have to diddle your way up suntower and you can go directly from World to Lifegiver then back to the correct save point.

Also, I did an IBBF in 6:16. I can still do much better.
What? In the route I planned out, you never go up Suntower. Also, you're going from Ligegiver to World not the other way around and it is on the way. It goes, Lifegiver, through chozo to Arboretum or Gathering Hall where you wallcrawl from there to Wild. Exit Sunchamber through front door and head to World.
Then you have to walk around half of Chozo ruins. When you do it early you end up with two options or places to go, one being right next to the next place you have to go. Also, IBBF video is uploaded and IBBF completed gamesave is uploaded too.
Oh, maybe you're thinking of after Lifegiver going to World via frigate crash site. I'm pretty sure that might be slower than going through chozo ruins but even if that's faster, to get wild early you have to kill flaahgra, go ALL the way through the ruins, back to gathering hall Wallcrawl to wild which takes even longer than getting it latter.
Hrm, true I guess. Either way watch my IBBF video, it's pretty good. I'm still not happy with it though. Way too many mistakes.
Wow that was really fast. There was still a bunch of mistakes but still, I could never do it that fast. I've always had a question about IBBF, why don't we access hote via the furnace access? It would definately be faster. I've never understood that.

You can, but it takes longer anyways because you have to float back up and there's no real way to get to the top of HOTE quickly from Furnace Access. Also, I've done a sub 4 minute IBBF run in the GC version where I warp into reflecting pool. It's crazy fast but still full of small mistakes that could cut the time down probably a minute.

Also, if you could I would be horribly grateful if you or anyone who has a Space jump early gamesave to send me the file, I want to try a VMR but I don't want to go through the bullshit of having to do SJ early again, I did that the first file and I completed it.
Oh, so it is slower to go through furnace access. Okay just didn't make any sense before.

Nice job with your IBBF in the GC and wii versions.

Yeah, I doubt anyone else has done early space jump. I actually am stuck right before early space jump in my file. I have been able to do it within a half an hour each time I try to get it but last time I tried, I tried for like an hour and a half and couldn't succeed.

Lol, VMR in wii version. That's really, really funny. There is no way that a VMR in the wii version will ever be possible.
