i had that same idea when i just joined, as probably did many others. its not listed on the front pages why the xray visor is unskippable, so it leads you to believe that it should be possible. but its not. at the moment (look at super metroid).

I heard a while back of someone climbing up the OP room during the OP boss fight. He said he had made it all the way up and almost hit the platform, but went over it. I dont remember who was helping him with it, but there was legitimate evidence that it could work to get on the upper rigging during the fight (the areas on the wall are easy to get onto, its the tough bsj at the end that makes all the difference).

Perhaps if one was to exit the room during the OP fight, or if one was at the right place on the rigging, the OP would glitch?

look it up.

I live.  Fear.

If you're on the rigging he'd probably just keep trying to shoot you.  Also, based on Chykka in MP2 if you leave the room during the fight he'll probably vanish forever, leaving you totally screwed.

BUT, technically, you will have beaten the OP. :P

He doesn't.  I already said he just resets on page 2.

And Jason, your lesson is wrong.  It's "If you don't want to be embarrassed, don't say anything until you actually do it."  That applies to everything.
i'm just wondering (haven't faught omega in a while) but, in most boss fights, you can do damage (even the slightest, usually not even noticed) when you are forcing a boss (or any enemy) into a damageable form ex:omega pirate. So do you think this may be possible? I have beaten bosses before like this, very tedious

Wow, what a healthy attitude.

I don't agree 100% here.  I'd say that you shouldn't be arrogant, boastful, or over-confident.  For instance, almost a year ago I made a post saying "I'm going to try beating Metroid Prime without taking a single point of damage.  It's going to be difficult, but I'm up for the challenge."  Now, not a single person flamed me or disrespected me in any way.  A few people said they wouldn't want to watch it unless it was also super-fast; a few people said they thought it was impossible.  But, I think most people realized that it would be difficult, and were encouraging me to go for it, since my original post reflected that I KNEW that it wasn't a simple undertaking.
...
If the topic creator had made his first post something like this:
"I want to do a run where I skip the X-ray visor.  I know it's been tried, I know it's thought to be impossible; but I'm willing to try all kinds of crazy tricks, I'm willing to put in the hours, and I just need your help and suggestions."
he would have gotten a much better response.  His initial post, however, made it clear that he hadn't really done his homework on the topic, and had NO IDEA how difficult this project really was.  THAT'S what ended up embarrassing him, not that he made the topic before accomplishing the goal.
