Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
I am currently practicing this run in Legacy. I am already up to Ridley with 180 Missles, 20 Super Missles, 30 Power Bombs, 12 E Tanks, 4 Reserve Tanks, and basically everything except for those two beams.
What Ive already learned:
1. Alternate Attacks: Success in such a run involves knowing alternate ways to beat enemies like the Gold Pirates in Lower Norfair. Other ways to beat them include 6 Charged Wave Shots, 3 Power Bombs, or 5 Super Missles
2. Manipulation of Refill Chances: Theres one room with one Magdolite just after the first rising acid room. If you shoot the fireballs that come out of the hand, thats quick refills right there.
3. Ninja Pirates: Theres two sets of them in Legacy, one in a fast rising acid room, and another one that you kinda fall into their room. The first one allows almost no room for error and therefore the best way I killed them is with 3 Super Missles. The second room allows for a little more error, but I still throw Super Missles at them.
4: Super Missles damage Botwoon the same way a charged Spazer would, and fire off faster too. I switched over to missles when I ran out of Supers.
5: Just like the Gold Pirates, another enemy I decided to get to a safe area and fire charged shots at, was the Super Dessegeegas.
I will be making a similar run again next week, only this time recording it to an SMV.
Edit: Finished the run earlier tonight, 5:32 and 84% collection. By the time I was done with Ridley, I had 43/180 Missles, 2/20 Super Missles, and 632/1200 Energy left, and that was without even using one charged shot. Going through Tourain was surprisingly easy, as the Metroids were indeed vulnerable to my reduced beam power.
