Nintendo today announced the majority of this years launch release schedule for PAL territories (may or may not include Oz). In this, Metroid was mentioned as a Q4 title (aka: October - Dec), and defanitely not mentioned for August at all (unlike the US 20th Aug date).  :x  :x  Crying or Very sad  Crying or Very sad  khaaaan

Gives them PLENTY of time to 'fix' any 'issues' we 'happen' to come across on the US release. *sighs*

So yea, thanks Nintendo for that. Bloody muppets  :x  Evil or Very Mad

(goes off to see how much a US Wii will cost).

IMO everyone souhld wait to show off all the glitches until the PAL release...  Not that anyone will though, let's just hope that peopl don't find everything usefull in the first months.

We had this discussion for Echoze, too, but not enough people thought making a private forum was a good idea (I still think it would be, so PAL doesn't get screwed as badly).

there's no way there was time to use people in the real world as testers for prime 2 (talking about changes in pal). but yes, it does look like pal will be very different this time. good stuff.

i don't give a shit about pal. the way i see it there's going to be only one version for serious running like there was with prime 1 either way, so what's the point in even doing anything? having fun is the ultimate goal. if you want to have the most fun then you can import the game. that is the reality of the situation right now.

Thats funny because according to this Swedish site: http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=62700&traff=1 you will get it in September. So I preorder it last night ;)

I preordered the US game although it will not run on my EU Wii. ^^
If there's no Freeloader available before Aug 20 I'll have to buy a US Wii. -.-
Does anyone know anything about a release of such a gadget?

I've just realised that the planned online updates (no doubt new planets/missions/weapons etc) will REALLY add a ton of new categories for speedruns.

And you can rest ASSURED, that every expansion will come complete with a sneaky 'patch', to fix anything we find.

I suppose the inevitable alterations to the PAL version will mean more content for M2k2 to add to the site.

But can the online updates really add such things? I mean come on, wii have 512 MB of flash memory, can they really predict that people would want to fill out those 512MB with updates and patches?

Question: Mexican Wii is concidered as PAL? I heard NTSC Wiis are only the US and Japan one's.

Also even if my Wii is PAL, I still can play US bought games on it right?

Edit: Also What does the BOB reference mean in Metroid Prime, never got it, I think it has something to do with plasma troopers...

IIRC the release usually referred to as a "US" release is a North American releases, which includes Mexico.

And yeah, there's not enough memory Mills, calm down. Besides, if they were going to do it, don't you think they would have done it to Twilight Princess by now?

It should be noted that that picture is for the actual television standards, while "PAL" as it tends to be used around here refers to the regions games are released in. It matches up mostly but not precisely. In general, "PAL" = Europe in usage around here, roughly speaking.

Yeah, I can't imagine them updating Corruption with patches like that. I wouldn't update anyway-- updating a console game should never have to occur if it's not an online game. I can understand stuff like downloading update patches for Diablo II to make the online more fair, but console games should be pretty damn solid right at release, just as they've always been. There's no reason for that to change just because consoles are online now.

well, first, the US version has to be broken somewhere for PAL to be raped with updates. let's see if this time they make it "unbreakable" like they say or they create something new that screws it up (i'm betting the new control method will lead to new glitches)

btw, almost all of america goes by US releases. i think only Brazil uses different equipment (that's good, otherwise i would have been importing very long ago)

also, i must be sure to get this game on day 1. wouldn't want to be stuck with a v1.1 or something.

btw, NOE has been sucking hard forever. SPM in sept? wtf?
