Currently this new - confirmed - method of bypassing the bars isn't useful in either a 22 or 23% run as it requires the collection of one PB exp to work, but it DOES work on both NTSC and PAL without an AR. :D

Oh, and those who can't be arsed with SW's, go away now as this obviously won't interest you in the slightest...

The trick involves going into LifeGrove and exiting the room (now known as SW16), at the back, and wallcrawling over to the morphball tunnel. This will load Lifegrove Access and crawl along that until half way across. Float up to the alcove and get partially stuck. This should "dump" Lifegrove and allow you to now access the GTH from outside.

Dump LGA and drop to the door below for Transport Tunnel E. Now, once you are close to the door, and you have NOT shot it yet (vital), you can unmorph to be level with the door (just behind it, but not close enough to be kissing it). And shoot the door with the ice beam.

You will now load TTE and it will load around you (door warping). Move into GTH normally and go up and remove the bars with the spinner. Proceed to mines as per normal!  :D

It actually doesn't take THAT long to do (with practice). Certainly not as long as some people have taken with the DBJ method...

AND, we *might* be able to use a different route (via the Crashed Frigate) and do it without the need for Gravity or PB's... But that's still under testing...

The first useful SW SB is now confirmed. *feels all warm inside*

Hmm. A useful ZOIDS? I wonder how much time it'd save -- and how easy it is to pull off.

Saved time depends on how long the DBJ over the bars normally takes a player. Some people can get it in minutes, some several hours.

As with ANY tricks, practice makes perfect and a decent run from SW16 means you should be able to do it in about 15-20 minutes. Depending on how well you can wallcrawl and dump the previous rooms.

It's also handy in 22% games if you wish to avoid DBJ'ing back over the alcove in LGA, as you can wallcrawl past it. Again, difficulity deceases with practice.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Normally you'd calculate time saved by considering how long each would take when a player does them perfectly their first time, since that's what you'd shoot for on a speed run. Ideally you don't factor mistakes into time saved.
I can also confirm that Andrew's sequence break does indeed work.  We were in a race to get it, and since his AR is fasting than my floating, he beat me to it  :P .  Alas, you need power bombs to get into Life Grove so it's not interesting  for you non-SW folk.  I managed to go from SW16 to door warping into TTE in about 10 minutes, mainly because of floating times.  It's better than my  dbj over the bars time by a long shot.

And now for the second SW sequence break (and probably the most groundbreaking one as of late) check out my topic!!!

Is there a way to get into Life Grove through this SW? Do you need SJ? I was just wondering if GTH without SJ is now possible.
