Yes, but I just felt that posting pictures, then we were looking at physical appearances, and I still say that Pikachu is more mouse-looking than anything else.
Also, since when did developers have to make any sense in the real world? (Excluding Doom, which is based on real, daily events in Hull.)
i love how pikachu is apparently such a contentious topic. :)
the art, though. as always, the color stands out. i wish you did a podcast or something so we could hear what goes on in your head when you do these things. i like how we have the blue/green background color highlights on the pikachu fur. looks vaguely like he or she is transparent though which is slightly weird. the simple and angular ears and tail also contrast the rest of the body, which looks quite soft. this is roughly equivalent to how "authentic" the various body parts look, which is ironic given pikachu does not actually exist. i guess i'm having trouble talking about this one like i normally do since i'm not likely to ever see this in real life. your mastery in other scenes, though, serves to convince me that if i did, in fact, run into a peeved pikachu, that it would look very much like what we see here.
i wonder why you chose that particular pose. it looks defensive. i want to follow its gaze. i can't imagine what would be that close to the ground that would piss it off that much. maybe it just got up on the wrong side of the bed.
i can tell (or, at least, i think i can tell) why you picked this mongoose to go with the pikachu. colorwise they seem to go together very well. we have solid background colors, like certain old style wildlife illustrations. i think it's interesting that you've already proven you can handle the environment no problem, and now you're saying "this, too, is art."
i have noticed that if i focus just on the mongoose's tail, it looks just like a flame.
It's a really good pic, but I can't help but think that it would have been better if it weren't Wolverine, and was just some guy reclining with his beer.

xD? Can I ask why at least? I mean, the point of the whole thing is that it's Wolverine. Sure, it would be nice to have a guy reclining with his beer, but it dosen't have much story or depth to it unless the piece was completely reworked. What about the fact that it's Wolverine bothers you? Do you find it to be overused? Cliche? I guess I just don't understand your reasoning there. XD
I don't like that such an apparently thick tank top hugs his body so tightly to cause such contrasting shading, yet it also almost seems loose. Also the hands, but then again, they are hands, so I gotta give you credit for having them at all. Right one looks too big and disjointed from the forearm, left one looks too short and the fingers too long.
Everything else is good as far as I can tell. I thought the perspective of the chair looked off, but then I blinked and everything righted itself.
I love Wolverine as much as the next guy, but I just felt that he didn't look enough like Wolverine in the picture, in which case just 'some guy' might have been better. Maybe it was the hat...
Wow, I really like the realism in the Pikachu. It's more of an Mass-Electron-Charge manipulating and storing animal rather than a talking, magical plush toy that was fabricated by Nikola Tesla.
The mongoose is of a similar type, beings that they naturally hunt snakes, (Don't say a word) however is of a very contrasting character
