The Metroid Prime Pinball demo has recently been put into various stores, so this topic is to post your thoughts on it, once you've played it.
I sadly haven't gotten a chance to get to Wal*Mart, so I don't really have any thoughts yet. Can't wait to play it, though.
Thread title:
The Nintendo rep came and installed the demo in our Target a couple of days ago, and I went on a day off up there to play it for a bit. I like the control scheme, and while I haven't found much of a use for the stylus yet, I assume it's something that's being worked on (the menus to get to the actual game required buttons; touching the screen didn't seem to do anything). Oh well, fun game.
According to Nintendo, the stylus will be used for 'tilting' the pinball table.

Edit: Wh00t, first post in the Pinball section.
This game cometh out the 24th of October, correct?
The game and idea looks and sounds interesting. IMO , i am not going to get it . For Hunters and Prime 3 with REV is on the top of my buyying list. If i ever get bored ill probly get it.

If so, then ill give it a shot before a buy Deadlocked. Considering there wasnt much information for this game already, i'll assume its greatness.
I'm prolly gonna end up getting it because its a pinball game and I'll get addicted for hours.  You should've seen me when pokemon pinball came out...

Are you saying YOUR first post in this section? Cause otherwise, you're behind by 2 posts (mine and Arkarian's) ;)
I'm getting DBZ Tenkaichi first, then MPP. Besides, since I'm in jolly old England, my release date is probably later, correct?
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
So... does it remember what pinball's all about, like the Pokemon Pinball series? I'm a major pinball fan.
ARGH! I posted my response to the demo in General Metroid. Can someone put it here please? But yeah, I loved it. Yoshi, it feels like a Metroid style Pinball table, but with a side of bonus minigames.

You (I) can't merge topics, but I can delete it and you can post it here.

And I can also copy/paste it. :P
Thanks, TRH.

Saw it at Walmart, played it, loved it.

The controls are simple. L and R control the flippers, and when you get the chance, the control pad aims Samus's arm cannon.

I'll go through this in order of how I played. First up, Single Mission. You could choose between Pirate Frigate and Tallon Overworld. I chose the frigate. It was a hoot, looked exactly like it did in Prime. Then I went to Multi Mission, and differs in the fact that you can choose to switch to another area at certain point. I started on Tallon there. The level consists of a waterfall, Samus's ship, hell, the whole first area of the Overworld. Then there's the 'modes'. There's a Wall Jump mode, where you use L and R to wall jump, kill War Wasps, and take an Artifact (It didn't say 'X of 12' so I assume it's just for bonus). There's a Beetle killer mode, where you unroll, equip your Power Beam, and blast some Beetles. You can't move, but you CAN aim, and fire with A. You have 10 health (same with Morph Ball), and you go until you are defeated, or you kill all the beetles. A metroid even floated up. Ram it, and you unlock a Metroid killer mode, which I failed, because I fell down the hole.

It gets better. You can get a certain bonus occasionally, an extra ball, a blocker (for the bottom of the map), health refills, and 'Phazon Multiball'. You get a second, phazon colored ball, and you can run over Phazon for bonus. Then, I hit the Ship, and I could change my level. Along with the Frigate and the Overworld, the demo had Phendrana Drifts and the Phazon Mines, I chose the mines. Upon entering, Space Pirates jumped down and began their assault. Apparently, they have a new weakness to the Morph Ball. At the top was a Missile Upgrade, which I had to ram a couple times to unlock. I got it, then was in for a surprise. Boss time! The Omega Pirate appeared, along with reinforcements. It seemed to have 20 health, shot missiles at you, and could be wounded by ramming it's front. I'm guessing, but am unsure, but I think you can unroll, and attack with the Missiles, because it said to use X to use, but I couldn't in Morph Ball mode. I also saw a Scan Visor symbol appear (which I assume starts the Bonus roulette I discussed earlier). I never beat the Omega Pirate, I had to leave, but it was great fun.

The music, sound effects, and graphics were top notch (music is from Metroid Prime, and goes in to each level accordingly), it was fun to play, and I loved it. I give the demo 9/10, if only because it gets kind of hard to see what's what on such a small screen.

Whoever said this wouldn't work was wrong, fortunately. Go out and try the demo, you won't be disappointed.

EDIT: I saw NO speed run/ sequence break potential (obviously), but there can still be a tricks section, and a High Score section. Or maybe speed run how long it takes to start a level, and kill its boss.
No problem.. and I moved the quote to your post.
everybody knows it's true
I guess this game shouldn't take a flame... I'll just forever know it as "The game that shows that Metroid is better than Mario"

Yes, the release date for MPP is October twenty-fourth.

Starblade: cool, looks awesome. And heh, I wasn't really expecting much Sequence Breaking, anyway. I love pinball, and if it's anything like Pokémon Pinball, it's gonna be great.

I should be getting out to the store sometime soon to play the demo.
twenty eight fifty
i have a new favourite game.

unfortunately, i cannot set my heart to it. :(

edit: fixed!!!!!!

oh yes pokemon pinball...good times. Also Tim i think Duo means it is his first own post of this forum.
This is gonna be better than i expected. Hope you get to battle Meta Ridley :D . I really wonder what the touch screen might do. However, i dont think i would be getting this just yet, as ive already set my mind on R : D.
People are all thrilled about this... yet everyone seems to think Hunters sucks? What is wrong with the world?!

Hunters... great concept. I love the game.
Pinball... er... HORRIBLE CONCEPT!!!1!!!1!!1!111
Sadly, it seems fun. Well, that's a good thing I guess...

I'm looking forward to trying it.

Okay, I finally got out to Wal*Mart tonight and played the demo. I only got to play the Tallon Overworld level, but, from what I've played, I think it's prety damn awesome. I loved when I got the four balls at once thing...really sweet. The graphics are simply amazing, and the game play is smooth. This might be one of the reasons for me to buy a DS, though certainly not the main one.

So, yeah, I love it. Really addicting and flashy (in a good way...after all, it IS pinball).
This sounds awesome. Gotta go to Wal*Mart and play the demo (I bet the demo is at every Wal*Mart).
The demo is out at most major retailers that have a DS interactive display. I've been to at least three area Targets that have it installed already. *shrug*

Is that the same for in the UK, or do we get it later?
