I was only referring to the fact that this is the first metroid game to use (significant) voiceacting, Unless you want to count certain non-US versions of metroid prime (and the "recording to logbook" in echoes which is the only thing that carried over from the aforementioned versions of metroid prime.); but no version of prime 1 or 2 has a section in the credits for voice actors.
red chamber dream
I wouldn't call it a significant amount, but there was certainly some voice acting.
I think I "have something significant to add". I'm still feeling guilty, so sorry for reviving this.

Something that makes even less sense is the fact that Japan gets quite a bit of extra Metroid stuff, stuff that's really only interesting for actual Metroid fans who care about  story and background. First thing that comes to mind is the Zero Mission manga. A small part of it was available as an e-manga and there's a fan translation of it, and then, of course,  there's the rest of it, printed on paper, in japanese, only available in Japan. Apparently, during the Metroid 1-3 era, there was quite a bit of background information available to japanese gamers, be it in the form of the manual or separate "story booklets", from the original creators of Metroid, most of which isn't part of today's official canon anymore, but still very interesting. I can't provide you with proof for my claims, but I'm not here to tell you this, anyway. The Zero Mission manga alone is reason enough to question Nintendo's doings. While it was probably an attempt at making Metroid more appealing to Japan, not giving it to the regions where Metroid is far more popular doesn't make sense at all.
think if anything it should be called fusion manga since that's when it started. and i'm guessing it was an attempt to market fusion (and prime too) over there, one that failed, unfortunately.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
i think we should let this go. FPS don't sell at all in japan. it has been proven too many times already. it's almost a law.

even Halo 3 with it's massive hype and ads only managed 58k over there and was gone from the top 30 the next week. the game that sold 3.3 million units in 2-3 weeks in america only got 58k in japan. if that didn't sell, then no FPS ever will sell there.

the quality of the voice acting wasn't that good either. i don't think they hired any expensive actors for that so the added cost wouldn't be that much.

also, are there even any japanese players here at m2k2? i don't think someone here would suffer if the game didn't come out over there. their version would be butchered anyway so any serious player would have to import anyway.+

edit: the decease of 2D Metroid's popularity in japan is a more concerning matter since it was unexpected. the old games did well but Fusion and MZM sold bad. seems like the series' popularity died along Gumpei Yokoi over there.
Yes, I'm just calling it ZM manga because of the events it covers.

Funny thing is, they didn't even credit Jennifer Hale (Samus) in Corruption, while everyone else was.
Nintendo's listing it as a 2008 release:

What is this "Wii Chess" that's only listed for Europe?

And I noticed that they didn't give her any credit whatsoever either. Probably because she never says any words? Still, I'd think they'd at least mention she had a hand in bringing Samus to life, even at the limited scale she did compared to the others.

Ready and willing.
This has nothing to do with the topic. NOTHING AT ALL. Seriously, wtf? There was no reason to post this here. Not that many of your posts have reason to be posted anyway, but this isn't even the right place? Could you stop being stupid all over the place sometime? It's a new year and all.
