Thread title:
absolutely insane.
Isn't this a 'Latest Prime 3 Detail'? Just sayin'.

In one scene, Samus must go into morphball mode and drop a bomb to propel herself into a nearby airlock. When she triggers the airlock, a cut-scene ensues that shows the character jettisoned into space, where she floats underneath a gigantic ship and eventually grabs onto a protruding lever and pulls herself back in through a gap in the structure.
I can't fight the urge to make a Halo 2 joke, but I can't think of one either. :(

Sounds like it could be promising but also sounds like it could really suck. Only time will tell.

I'm glad they delayed it.
If you'll recall, the E3 controls were such that the camera moved when you pointed at the edge of the screen (Red Steel works the same). From watching the videos on IGN, it seems that "Expert Mode" merely changes that point where the camera moves, so that instead of moving only at the edge, it moves everywhere except near the center, and might move faster the further away you go from the center (I couldn't quite tell on that point). This would make sense to me, as it would let you turn faster (the number one complaint I've heard) without losing the "point-and-shoot" style of aiming.

Of course thats just a guess from watching the video.
I've been watching the expert control video over and over. It's neat. The stuff happening out the window makes me happy. A couple of questions, though.

1) Is that Adam in the cutscene?
2) Whether he is or not, what the hell is with that outfit?

I think the movement of the Arm Cannon in this game is literally sickening. It looks like it's continuously jumping all over the screen, poking every which way, and making a mess of itself.

I thought we knew about this 'expert mode' control style since E3. I seem to recall reading about it somewhere.
If you watch the new video on IGN about it, there appear to be THREE different control styles: Normal, Advanced, and Expert. My guess is that the old Expert from E3 may have become the new Advanced style, since this new Expert style seems even more like a PC mouse. (They haven't shown us what Advanced really is yet as far as I know.)
My initial impression of the control scheme was that, though simple in concept, it would be rather frustrating in practice.  That is, moving the beam cannon target across the screen would be fast but scrolling your view by moving the target to the screen edges would have a slow response time like Derek said.  Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye and Star Fox Adventures are some games that come to mind with similar free-targeting-type view-scrolling, which usually found some way of getting on my nerves (maybe it's just me).  The view-scrolling was only affected by moving the targeting reticle to the screen edges so if you overshot the intended view of your target, you'd have to move the reticle all the way to the other side of the screen to backtrack your view... probably the main reason why PC FPSs are generally better than console FPSs--a severe lack of free-targeting precision.

I'm happy that there appears to be an option with a quicker/finer view-scrolling response in MP3.  The free range of targeting motion decoupled from an R-shoulder button is a nice feature of the Wii control that will happily afford greater free-targeting precision.

And is it just me or did the demo strike anyone as being striking Halo-like?  It seriously felt like the first level from Halo... wake up on a ship, go talk to the man in charge, ship gets struck, you have to fight your way out.  Give the regular Space Pirates a shield and they're almost Halo's Jackals.
yeah, the original control scheme was the same as resident evil survivor (us)'s. probably worthless.
