Hi everybody,
I personally loved the music in various parts throughout this adventure. I finished zero mission the first time today but I noticed I didn't get the sound test. Why? Question  :(
Thread title:
Did you finish on normal or easy?
I finished it on easy.
直死の魔眼使い
Sound Test is unlocked by finishing it on Normal, AFAIK.
I could be wrong, but I think you actually need to finish on hard for the sound test.
It's normal *nods*
Actually it's hard. Normal unlocks NES Metroid and the Gallery, but not sound test. Trust me. I had to unlock it to get the music recorded.

Easy unlocks NES Metroid and the Gallery.  I know that for sure.

I knew I didn't get the sound test until my second play-through. Thanks for confirming that, for a second there I thought I was going crazy. :P
i didn't even look at the options till after my second playthrough, but thanks for mentioning how it was unlocked, i love the soundtest...
I didn't even know there was a sound test.  Well, now I have another reason to finish my Hard game!

...I got a little discouraged, getting to the last save point at 2:02 with 100%.  Oh, well.  I can't complain, I guess.  I mean, it's only my second time through.  Better luck next time.  </smug>[/b]
The music is seriously "meh" compared to Super's.
Bah.  The hard 100% is kicking my everlovin' ass.  I completely lost touch with my wall-jumping abilites (which I'm normally VERY good at) and my time just shot up.  How Red,  how did you do 1:11?

Oh well, I've got the Cowboy Bebop movie and Underworld to watch tonight.
I noticed that when I searched through the Music Through Sound test that they left out the savestation and crateria cave music.
Actuallly there's 11 tracks that aren't in the sound test. I have recorded all the music already, from the original cart. It's on my ftp:

ftp://leech:leech@24.72.120.142/

It's in the Metroid Zero Mission folder.
Cook of the Sea
Yeah, they did choose some odd ones to skip.  Like the Item Room theme, both versions Chozo Statue theme, and

My personal favorite, the jazzed-up post-suit Brinstar theme in Chozodia.

Speaking of which, are there any long-time NP subscribers here that got the free SSBM concert CD?  I loved the Metroid track on that, it had the best version of the Brinstar music.
lol no way
Yeah, I got it, still have it too. That cd was supreme, haha.
Cook of the Sea
It's still one of my best CDs.
the best track is #15 (on sound test, that is.)
Cook of the Sea
No, #18 is the best.  You only hear it for about ten seconds in the actual game, but the rest of the track is really, really, cool.

100% Hard on your second run through?!  Shocked
wait what? you have to beat it on normal or hard? because so far i beat it on normal like 3 times and easy 4 times (altough its not as good as fusion it gives me something to do in my 30 bagillion hours of free time)  and i still dont have the sound test... am i doing something wrong?

It's on Hard.
Kraid theme is my favorite on the test, but it's nowhere near as cool as the SSBM version. The two ridley battles aren't bad either. Imago's is just plain irritating, though.
In my opinion, Metroid Zero mission has the best music of all the metroid games, so I'm really glad that Nintendo decided to add a sound test.  I just don't know why they would leave out some of the songs  :? .
