Here are some of my Metroid wallpapers. It would be great to see yours...
If you have comments, questions or requests, this is the place.

Edit 1: I think that we should reserve the bigest part of this section for wallpapers that we've created or edited one way or another.
Maybe we can help each other to create some cool stuff ?
For those that we can find easily on the net, I think that a link, like this one, will do the job:

http://www.deviantart.com/#order=9&q=Samus+Aran

Edit 2: To be considered as a wallpaper, a resolution of 800x600 is normaly required.
With actual screen size, the standards are getting bigger, like 1024x768, 1280x1024 & 1600x1200
Widescreen: 1600x1024 & 1680x1050.

How do you like this one?

Meh not really. I wouldn't want one with mainly just the box art.

It would actually be a pretty cool idea to be able to imprint a design of your choosing onto shoes when purchasing them.  It'd be akin to T-shirt logos when it comes to expressing yourself.
I was sort of thinking we were looking for wallpapers, not random images that might look good as wallpapers.  Whatever.

Well, if you think about it the only real difference between a 'wallpaper' and an image that might look good as a wallpaper is someone calling it a wallpaper and putting it on their desktop.

Didn't make these, just sharing them. Props to whoever made them.

No, a wallpaper has to actually be big enough to fit.  You could use the "stretch" function with Windows (I'm not sure about everything else), but manually editing it is better.

Here's a fusion one that I found.  There was another one, but it was really tiny.

images that have to be stretched out of proportion in order to adequately cover your desktop would not fall under my description of  'an image that might look good as a wallpaper'
No, not necessarily.  The one that I attached two posts ago was a little bit too small and a little bit too wide.  If you look closely, you can tell that I had to take two pixels off the right side (I could've taken one off of each side, but I'm too lazy to do that in Paint).
One shall stand, one shall ball.
So... if it isn't big enough to fit the entire screen it isn't a wallpaper, but if it is edited or stretched by Windows it is?

You can't just change the desktop color to complement the smaller image, thereby preserving the original image quality?

You're just nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking.

Here are my wallpapers of the week.

My favorite:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I made one requested by James using a generic Galactic Federation image I found online. He apparently has a big monitor.

That's pretty good.  It also looks pretty easy.  You have inspired me to make my own wallpaper.  I've attempted this once before, but it's not really worth posting here.  If you must see it, ask.  But you've been warned.

EDIT: Here is my incredibly hastily put together Metroid wallpaper.  It really shows, too.

Not all of them are wallpapers, but I found some cool new images:
