What do you mean by "Grapple beam and some lucky backstrafing"?

I don't really understand the jump but i'll be testing it out to see if I can get it. I'll also be trying out some secret worlds to see which ones are still possible.

MQA has been pissing me off so i'll probably be taking a break from it. It angers me that i'm so close to beating the game 23% but i'm stuck on one damn jump.

I'll try to get a basic video of the jump. Also, I've already tests a ton of SW's, so far only 14 are confirmed still working.

EDIT: By that grapple I mean jump once, lock onto a grapple point and grapple then when you're as high as you can go to spinner 1 let go, jump and hold back. Useless anyways, but cool.
Wow, i've got to try that jump out. It goes as far as an L jump.

Oh, okay. You need grapple for that so it wouldn't be useful for low% anyway.
Unfortunately the places I can think of where it would need to be applied are pretty "boxy" in design.
EDIT: Zomg, tilted metal girder right next to the platform needed to solve MQA for 23%. Doable? Yes, probably. Easily? Probably not. It's a lot harder to control than I show in that vid, you've got to hammer A/B so you jump right away or else you just slide off.
Hey, they changed the logbook!  Now all the scans are kind of in order, so it's easier to figure out what you're missing.  Unfortunately, this means existing scan guides won't work.
I just completed a 2 tank VMR without space jump. It didn't take long at all because I found a timesaver. After exiting the morphball tunnel in Lava Lake, just continue in morphball and spring jump across to the rock and then again to land. I also got really lucky and all of the Puffers dropped Ultra Energy. I got nailed by one of the security cameras but I still made it out with 38 energy.

As for MQA, no luck yet and I can't seem to get the slide jump to work.

They can't be that hard to rearrange, surely?
Jagger ftw
There are three /four types of missile refills, small ,medium large and ultra large.
Only three: Small, Medium, Large.  Small are just the little missile icon, medium has three spikes, and large has one spike with three coming off of that.  Small gives you 3, Medium gives you 5, and large gives you 10.

As for lava lake I think it's quicker to do that once, unmorph then turn back and dash.
It's possible to do a 2 tank VMR coming from the Tallon elavator. It was hard but if you stop by Triclops Pit and the first two Puffers drop ultra energy, you can turn around and just make it in time. You'll never make it if you don't stop by Triclops Pit.

Also, i've been timing some stuff but I think it's slower to do a VMR from the Tallon elavator because you would have to come back to Chozo Ruins the long way to pick up Nature.

I'm starting to think doing a VMR is slower than just fighting flaahgra because it would be hard to pick up Strength during a VMR.
I've picked up strength with 5 tanks before, so with 3/sj might be possible. TELL ME IF YOU GET SJE!
Yeah but grabbing the third energy tank would mean going out of your way to solve Energy Core which will cost a lot of time.

Killing flaahgra is faster because of the 2min longer wallcrawl if you don't kill him. It's probably saves like 1:30 not killing him but it ends up costing you 30 seconds.

Also, if it's possible to reload the room right after fighting flaahgra using Sunchamber's secret world then that would mean fighting flaahgra would definately be faster. How long do you think the wallcrawl would be from Sunchamber to Suntower and back into Sunchamber?

Yeah but you've gotta try as well. I'm not gonna waste my time if your not at least gonna try.
I've tried SJE, and done it. But I completed that file after I discovered all this cool shit like 2 tank VMR.
Do you know aprox. how long the wallcrawl from Sunchamber to Suntower and back into Sunchamber would be?
Hrm. Depends on how good you are. Anywhere from 4 weeks to about 7 minutes (Have to float)
You said it's a 2min longer wallcrawl if you don't kill flaahgra but now your saying it's 7 minutes from sunchamber to suntower and back. Isn't the extended wallcrawl if you skip flaahgra and the wallcrawl from sunchamber to suntower and back the same thing or maybe they're different?
If you don't kill flaggy you start from Arboretum/Gathering Hall. Also, Either way you have to fall down suntower enough to reload flaggy. That might be achieved from just wallcrawling from the room before and back, though.

Ah, screw it. This is getting way to confusing. I'll let someone else figure out whether or not it's faster to kill flaahgra.
Also, it's faster to kill flaahgra.
And how do you know that?

SW bullshit, backtracking, and just intuition. It might have been faster on GC but it's not anymore.

EDIT: Uploading Metroid Prime's soundtrack to youtube.

heh, i beat the game. i got all scans and 100% items.
i tried GTH bomb jump for kicks and no sucess. they sure fixed that. i didn't even bother with furnace because of the invisible wall reported by everyone.
a trick i did use was the early PB from phendrana's edge. i played most of the mines backwards but i had a small trouble with the wave troopers room backwards. i killed the guys before killing the shadow pirates and ended up stuck there. had to reset. good thing i had saved close to that.
i could kill OP in 1 cycle with super missiles just like i used to do before i started using plasma. it's nice that now PBs knock him down in our version.
Meta Ridley gave the same problem as in the jp version. he's invincible sometimes and i think it has to do with the power of your shots. i could nail him consistently with power beam and missiles but with plasma i was getting glitchy invincible phases. a good tip is to shoot him with power beam and then use a missile to stun him (plasma might be more effective but riskier if you paralyze him early and get the glitch)

btw, i noticed that in the credits they included the european localization staff. that's new for an US version. i'm more convinced the PAL and US trilogy versions are very similar and won't give us version differences like trilogy vs wii de asobu versions.

I HAD DONE AN SS UP UNTIL THAT POINT. NEVER AGAIN.

There are only two differences known so far. Two big ones but still, there isn't much of a difference between the North American and Japanese versions.
