You could have easily put the definition in the first post in the time it took you to make that post.
I'm getting very close to a VMR on Veteran Mode.
Coming close. In the room with the triclops, it's faster to go under with morphball then to jump over.
I sincerely doubt it, because you hit the centre pole and lose most of your speed. I'll try it though.

going under is certainly faster on the gamecube version— every smart player does it in their runs. is the wii version somehow different?
No, it is not. It is excaly the same.
It literally slows you to a stop so I fail to see how it's faster, however it seems to be faster so I will backpedal from my previous diagnosis.
Landing site secret world still works and so far the only secret world that hasn't worked is Watery Hall.

Landing Site = ridiculously stretched ghetto jump AND L-lock jump, or a 3bj, which is impossible.
Tallon Canyon might still work with another method juiliano came up with. Apart from that all the other ones can't be jumped to/have actually been fixed.
Landing Site's secret world is still possible so I don't know what your talking baout.

yeah, just watch any relatively recent speed run and you'll see it used. it's faster to go under, as hard as that is to believe.
T3: Please describe Landing Site.

I know, but that's a 3BSJ which isn't possible in MPT, so I'm curious to see how he's planning on doing it.

EDIT: I encountered the STRANGEST WTR glitch ever.

All you have to do is perform a DBJ. It's not hard at all actually. I'm surprised you haven't gotten it yet.

That's a secretized room, not a WTR glitch.

Yes, I guess at that point it would be. I literally hopped through the door and it closed and I sh*t my pants for a second. In 7 years of playing this game I've never had something this strange happen.

Also, I almost have MQA without the Metroid Hop.

You came ridiculously close with that jump. A freez dash could definately make it but it's hard to get the speed effect when you're on the metal beam.

Also, I just realized if a 1 tank VMR were possible, that would mean the new low% without secret worlds would be 25%. You could skip super missiles and charge beam by coming back to flaahgra later, using spider ball to reload the room in Sun Tower and then pick up Wild. I've been trying a 1 tank VMR but haven't come close. I always die right as I enter the triclops room.
I've gotten to where I did in the 4 tank veteran room, and that was after a literally perfect run. IF we could somehow quickly pick up a 20 health dropped by a magmoor we'd have a shot.
The farthest i've gotten is exiting the morphball tunnel in the triclops room. I had 40 energy replenished in the run though and it also went perfectly. I highly doubt a 1 tank VMR possible. I will test out killing the magmoor but I think it takes to long for the energy to appear.
Yea I think so too. It might be worthwhile (40 energy) to kill all the puffers and nab their energy, it appears immediately.

None of the puffers drop energy. There is no way this is possible. An absolutely perfect run only gets you in the middle of the triclops room.

Edit: A 2 tank VMR from the Tallon elevator with space jump is possible but it is really hard.
They droped energy for me...

I tried that, it was SO hard.
I've only made it once and I had like 2 energy left IIRC. Hopefully this can help you out because this is the route I took.

In the first room, follow the normal morphball rail. If you jump across, the magmoor ends up hitting you. I think he's placed closer to the wall in this version. In Fiery Shores, collect the energy from the first crates then jump once towards the magmoor and then dash towards the crates. That is were most of my attempts ended. Shoot the crates and collect their energy. Jump towards the tunnel and then morph and spring ball through the tunnel. Monitor Station was another run killer. Shoot the crates to your right then take out the 2 security cameras with missiles. Grab the energy then shoot the crates in the middle of the room and take their energy. Then you just continue on as you normally would to the ending but remember to get the instant unmorph.
I can avoid the magmoor easier than I can in GC, for some reason. I end up in the next room with 45 health (2 tanks)
