Damn man I have been waiting so long for this. Playing prime with prime 3 controls and yet I am denied! wii won't read the disc so I have to send it in for repairs...disappointed is an understatement. man i was excited putting in the disc and bam a huge slap in the face to my day

Sounds like what happened to hundreds of people at Brawl release. :p
The first wave of Wii consoles produced used drives that obviously weren't well-tested for reading dual-layer discs. Anything bought since the latter half of 2007 (I actually bought mine after buying Prime 3) won't have that problem.
I bought mine on the day it came out and haven't had any problems. (knock on wood) Is the MP trilogy a dual-layered disc ?
I only played Brawl for an hour or so and never played it again. I remember my wii updating itself and then being rather noisy while I was playing, haven't noticed anything like that with the MP trilogy.
Of course it is, there are 3 big games crammed in that disc with more content than the original 3 games contained. My Wii is working fine with it and I got my Wii launch day. I've only played a bit of MP:1 on the trilogy edition so far and it's delicious.
I bought the trilogy today because I couldn't resist the shiny collector's tin. Have yet to pop the disk in my console but even if it doesn't work, it'll still look nice in my collection. :D
You do notice it in the cutscenes, but otherwise, it's not a huge deal.
One big turn off for me, though, is the lack of game-specific titlescreens. MPT's title screen has cool music, but is meh for the comparison of ALL the rest, which have been taken out. I used to love navigating them.
