Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (8)
(user is banned)
Hello!
I was just listening the Metroid Prime 1 Tune again, after listening to the Metroid Prime 2 Echoes (SDA calls it "Metroid Echoes", I like this).

I found several better tunes in comparisation with Metroid Prime but also some some negative tunes.
If you're lazy of reading, just read the last 3 lines.
(Even if I was not asked...) I would like to make a list of some things about the MP OST and the ME OST.
I begin, uhm, because of some facts I want to explain I have to make up a list so that you can understand me ...

I liked on the Metroid Prime 1 OST (Track names from original Soundtrack CD) :

On the Metroid Prime 2: Echoes OST I like following ones:

Dark Samus 01
Great Temple Light Suit Recieved

Okay, uhm just read along...

One of the biggest and best changes (yet) was the VS. Space Pirates tune.
In Prime we got some annoying low saw leads, annoying background SFX, some fixed guitar or lead or something and a high pitched pad even with these bad things we got crappy drums! While playing with this f***ing tune it was really really annoying. "OHH Not Space Pirates again!!! Evil or Very Mad"
In Echoes the melody is slightly changed but the arrangement is changed in major things:
New drums, Japanese like, no crappy pads for the melody, but contrastful sawleads and good echo effect!
The Dark Samus 01 theme is really bad, too flat and crappy rhythm.
The composer did his homework with the remixes of Super Metroid tunes! Hydrodynamo Station is a very nice remix even without drums.
The subject I'm coming now to is the real purpose of this thread: Agon Waste / Dark Agon Waste music is the reason of I loving Metroid Echoes.
This tune just, yes, it makes you have fear of being hunt down (when you play first time). I was linked much more to the game than to Metroid Prime 1 with this tune.
It's getting late so I'm writing faster:

I wanted to say that the Metroid Prime 1 OST is really nice, but too much overloaded tunes and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes OST has more transparency and is linked deeper to the gameplay(So I'm voting for Echoes).
The instruments changed slightly but when there were changes, they were good!

So what do you think?
Thread title:
red chamber dream
I will have to go with Prime I, just because of the opening menu select. When I first turned on the game, I didn't know what to expect, and hearing that haunting cool music really got me excited to play. It set the mood for the whole game.
wow. i thought that exact same thing about prime 2's. prime 1's just doesn't do it for me.
Prime:
Title
Credits
Tallon Overworld 1 + 2
Magmoor Caverns
Phendrana Drifts 1 + 2
Chozo Ghost/Elite Pirate
Omega Pirate
Metroid Prime 1 + 2

Echoes:
Title
Menu Screen
Torvus Bog 1 + 2
Dark Samus 1 + 2
Emperor Ing 1
Evacuate!
(Probably Quaddy if I remember the music)

Um, I'd have to say Prime on this one.
I like the music from both quite a bit, but overall I think that the music in Echoes just seems to fit all into place for me. That, and the fact that Echoes has some very cool ones that Prime doesn't. Wink (Like the escape theme from Metroid/Zero Mission)
*cough* Magmoor Caverns *cough*
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Magmoor Cavern's sound quality was horrible.  It was worse than Super Metroid's...
I just lost all my respect for you. :(
lol. i'm surprised you haven't run into such blatant hate for that track before, ekard. it's just another terrible remix of the original.

fortunately, the situation is about to change! :)
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I'm not actually a big fan of either Prime music, but I do like Prime 2's much more than the first's.

Prime 1 is on my bad side for having four terrible, annoying songs--
The escape music (makes my ears bleed.  This song should die)
Pirate fighting music (too damn many electric instruments layered at once and is excels in annoying the crap out of me.  Prime 2's version is much cooler and has a fantastic beat to it)
Phrendrana's Edge (techno, techno, I, hate, techno, techno, techno, same thing repeated over, and over and over and over and over...)
and the worst, the Chozo Ghost battle (terrible, but I shouldn't have to elaborate--I'm pretty sure everyone agrees here)

I think that the good tracks in Prime (Tallon Overworld1, phendrana1, Credits, there's a few more) are outweighed by the four terrible ones above.

Prime 2's music is much better.  It completely lacks any terrible ear bleeders, and the boss music (especially Chykka's theme) is fantastic.  There's much more substance to most of the music.
You just have stupid ears :x.
always move fast
heh, i usually cant remember music at all... the one song i do remember, however, is magmoor caverns.  dunno if thats good or bad though. ;p
