Here's the snag: That selection, apart from cutting, uses the default volume... aka, sounds silent. Now, I just stupidly deleted the Berserker Lord soundtrack, thankfully I haven't saved, I literally just been rushing through things, with Audacity recording everything in the background (and yes, through the PC, and I turned off sound effects, etc). Gets annoying, when people "talk" the music quietens down.

The title right now, sounds too quiet, so I'll have to get to the credits to hear it at normal volume (I think).

Anyway, the first track I know is right, and also sounds good. Space Pirates Attack!

Wow this is fantastic, we will finally have a fair bit of Metroid Prime 3 music for us to enjoy! This is great, because it will give me even more inspiration to create my own Metroid music. I'm currently making a version of the Chykha Larva battle music from Metroid Prime 2, its coming along nicely, but probably nothing special compared to most fan made music out there.

Anyway, keep up the good work at ripping MP3's for MP3!  laugh new
You mean recording.  :P
Nice recording... but the upload site you used sucks.

I could upload it onto my own server if it comes to it.
Yeah, I know it does. But it's better than Rapidshare. :/

But yes, sorry, I've been busy with my personal life a bit (school, party, rabbit unwell, etc). However, I have just completed a little recording for today. Meeting Dark Samus, aka, a clip of meeting Dark Samus on Planet No...what's the name.. I also have Meeting  Rundas as well.

Dark Samus: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=0QREG73H
Rundas: (Just a sec)
Sweeeet, I like how they used that radio sound effect thing in the beat. Reminds me of the Parasite Queen.
****, my sound card is crackling. I don't know if this is affecting the MP3s or not. Does anyone here slight "pop" sound during the song? Mainly Rundas' Battle.
Here's the one I recorded last night:

Rundas (Vorbis) - 3.33 MB
Rundas (MP3) - 6.47 MB
Sweet dude, as good, if not better than my stuff.

Damn, and I was so close to getting there. :/

Damn, that's a sexy song.  Bout time we get a quality rip that isn't on a terrible upload service. :D

How about the other final battle themes?  And the Crateria mix on Urtagia?
Can we get a high quality title theme recording too please? All i've got is one I ripped and looped from the IGN video and it's got people talking in the background.

The Rundas battle theme is epic. This music's as close as i'll get to the game until October  :(

Hm, and how about the full Dark Samus?  I didn't realize at the time of my other post that that was from the cutscene and lacks the rest of the song. >_>
DaDude awesome job with the music you've rip so far ^_^ but if its at all possible, could  you use mediafire  to upload your sound track. Trust me its alot better then megaupload ;p

Got the title music recorded for ya.

I've been recording high-quality musics from video games for, literally, years. I could be doing this professionally if I ever looked up an employer. Either way, I'll be recording some key musics as I play through the game carefully scanning everything. I'll dump them all here:

Please, PLEASE don't spread that link around too much. If I think my bandwidth (which is coming off of my personal internet here at home) is being compromised, I will remove the files.

EDIT:
  • Track Added: Bryyo - Cliffside

Is it just me or does Rundas's theme have bits of Emperor Ing 3's in it?
Not just you. The part before the loop is a modified version of the Emperor Ing Part 3 music.
__________

Perhaps by coincidence my internet connection just took a dive, but to be sure, I've temporarily disabled the downloads. They'll be back up within 24 hours if people downloading didn't turn out to be the cause.

What a random reference.. Amorbis having Parasite Queen I could see, as they were both buglike bosses, but WTF do Rundas and Emp have in common?
Phazon. And no, I'm not trying to be clever.

Uh, what happened to the links? :<
Hey dude, how do you do it then? I've wanted to do the same myself for sometime.

Also, does this mean I should stop recording on my end?

And tell you what, why don't you host it on two servers? One being curddy megaupload. Put it as the first server, and some oblivious (or kind) people will download the other one. You could ask too.

Edit: Whoops, forgot to post the "Meeting Rundas". Sorry, it's a little quieter than usual, due to the only time you can get it all, is when he's talking, which makes everything quieter...

Also, here is the *SPOILERS* Battle. I will warn you now, if you read the file name, it will spoil a Major Boss.

Actually, Topic Creator, you should edit the title to have Spoilers.

...Unfortunatly, I'm going to be busy now (school, etc)... what's worse... when it seemed like our Rabbit would get better... he died...  :(
DaDude, I can't access Mediafire on these library computers. Sure, thats my problem, but if possible can you go back to Rapid Share? At least that works! Also can you please re-post the links to the music already 'recorded' just incase I've missed any? Thanks!
OK. Will do... give me a day, I'm sorry, it's just I have to go right now...
Well, my DNS has been wonky as of late, so I'm gonna blame my recent performance on my provider. It's better than it was last night, but still a bit iffy. Shouldn't affect you guys downloading, though. In the event that performance has dropped again when I get home from work, I'll be looking for an alternative. I'm not crazy about file sharing sites, though.

I've put the link back up. Here it is:
Metroid Prime 3 Soundtrack Dump

Added tracks:
  • Mogenar
  • SkyTown
__________

I record the tracks by using the audio output from the game console into a computer that I have set up for such purposes. Turning off the vocals and sound effects really helps, and I'm glad Metroid Prime 3 lets you do that.

Once I've recorded the raw stream while playing through the game, I load it into an audio editor for processing, which usually only involves clipping out the proper chunks, adding a half second of silence to each end (I can't stand playlists where one track begins the exact instant another one ends) and fading out for tracks that loop and increasing the volume as high as possible without clipping. Sometimes, like Title and SkyTown, the track has a proper ending and is simply looped in the game. In this situation, I only take the one loop as the track needed.

Occasionally, there's other maintenence to be done on the tracks to make them sound correct. Mogenar, for example, quieted down during the initial cutscene and it's something I wasn't able to skip past. An analysis on the decibel values of the audio allowed me to correct this.

When I'm done with a track, I process it as OGG Vorbis for archiving and listening purposes. Vorbis is, for all intents and purposes, far superior to MP3. When I share files, I often also provide the file in MP3 since Windows users can't typically play Vorbis files. The MP3 file is generally larger than its equivalent Vorbis, but that's at the expense of comparable quality.

All-in-all, it's a fairly simple process, and it's something that I enjoy doing. There's no telling how many tunes I've captured over the years.
Appreciate immensely what you're doing GuyPerfect, keep it up.  aiwebs_016
