After more than three years, fusion has finally gotten some attention.

Finally, I am able to present Metroid Fusion any% SS that beats the single-segment (0:51) as well as the segmented (0:50). Be sure to read the comments. Hope you guys enjoy.

Enjoyable watch (even if pausing is a bit cheap; naw, I kid, since I'd use it too on something as investive as this), and I definated felt that studio audience "ooooh" on some of the slip-ups (especially after BOX; reminds me of tryin' to bomb-jump into Chozodia in ZM, only to fall through). I like how you speed-runners tend to shoot irreverently and do things in pace with music (Serris and the final escape, namely).

~~Oh, and~~ Nevermind, it says "first of two energy tanks"; didn't see that "of".

Agh, 25 26 minutes left (high-quality download).

Very nice job man. I especially loved your walljumping in the beginning and almost every Shinespark (like that one in Sector 5 on the way to the Gravity Suit... what was that, five rooms? Was beautiful to watch :O).

I just watched it.

I like very much your run. Boss fights was totally perfect job. Expect you have bit trouble make Serris 2nd hit and Security robot II was bit avarage but good enought on SS run. SAX quick kill was amazing i never managed that. After hundreds attempts it is still too hard for me. I really loved see this your SS run Shocked

Of course i,ve must be mention your amazing Yakuza fight. Easily one hardest part in the game on speedrun.

Many little things looks very good too. Totally amazing run Biospark. Next 1% SS run hopefully as amazing as this. Wink

Not finished watching yet (I'm at Nettori), but it's great so far. nate, any chance of updating the Yakuza page on the site with BioSpark's fight rather than the one that's up there (because he doesn't take damage and looks cooler)?

Fantastic Yakuza and Nettori fights btw.

Same for Hunters, save that Fusion is both easier to record and is wubbled by a master (I'd consider him one, at least).

Although your Nettori fight was actually a bit worse than I expected, I had higher hopes for that fight, and the core-x fight was just horrible, but I guess it balances out the skill/crap balance ;-). And when you were pumping those missiles into Nightmare, touching it does only 63 damage (not enough to kill you), you should have just stayed on the ladder and continued to pump missiles into it and taken the hit. Yakuza and Ridley fights were just brilliant

You should watch the run before commenting on it.

I really don't see what was bad about the nettori fight. Yes, the core-x was "horrible", but it wasn't really my fault.

There are a number of reasons I wouldn't want to stay on the ladder. First of all, I had already taken a hit. For a very long time I've practiced the fight the way I do, so I know where to go to avoid damage and how to get nightmare to stop again. If I had taken a hit, I would likely get hit again and greatly increase the chance of dying. It's a single-segment, so I couldn't take that risk. Also, I would've only gotten a few more hits on it if I had taken a hit, so it would still have been a two round fight, not like I can do the one round fight on TAS.

Otherwise, thank you to everyone for the kind comments.

nah, honestly it's the most enjoyable Fusion run yet. Breaking two records with one run is quite a feat. Congrats.

I started to watch it, but the video was corrupted after about 12 minutes. Probably explains why I couldn't watch it on my PSP during class today :( I did enjoy every second of what I saw though. Can't wait to see the rest once it's done re-downloading.

lol. Well, if I actually did anything during half of my classes, then it would be a big deal :|

I re-downloaded and watched the rest of the run. Very, very beautiful. A couple flaws here and there, but that's to be expected in an intense run like this (don't worry, I couldn't do any better if I tried). I'm just trying to imagine how many hours you might have spent learning all those nifty tricks, memorizing the route, where everything is, etc. Your skills amaze me.

I shall continue to leave your run on my PSP so I might have something to watch when I go on a road-trip :-D

i watched the run today.

it was very good. lots of well, done tricks and bosses. some minor misses in a few sopts and some incooperative bosses (lol nettori used his bad luck attack on you there. first time i see so many yellow Xs come out before a green from a core-x)

adding up all mistakes i think there's like 1 min barely. no big errors and it shows how good the run is.

the pausing distracted me a bit but no big deal.

I'm amazed by the consistency of going forward in this run, every room that's even a bit more complex keeps amazing me with the good fast way it's gone through with. Boss fights are awesome, this run is just pure awesomeness.

Also, the entertainment value is better I've seen in some TAS runs, I'm honest.
