I tryed it the other day and i was fearing that, like everyone said, i would get totally disorieneted. Quite the oposite, i didn't notice much but that it moved faster. Its my first time trying it also.^_^
for me the problem is motion sickness. the camera moves too fast and that's why i need the default setting. also that's why i can't play any FPS. the prime series are the only games in first person i can play without getting dizzy and that was many years after mp1 was out (i got the game at launch but it gave me dizzyness too. only mp2 didn't give me that and got me into the series)
I started out on the default setting, and I was immediately like "ew, bleh, Red Steel." I quickly switched to the advance controls and haven't looked back.
My brother prefers to play it on the default, though, and I can never understand why. Though he is a bit of a beast at Red Steel multiplayer (the only part of the game worth playing, and even then, it's excruciatingly limited).
I still prefer the middle sensetivity setting, with lock-on free-aim turned off. I have been playing the whole game like this and have never considered doing other wise. But again, this is probably becuase I've played MP 1 so much, and don't play first person shooters.
as to the topic, it really doesnt matter. bosses are free aim and enemies are sometimes much easier to hit on the fly in MPC. and to previous post, if your destroying the game, why change.
except on hyper dificulty in the PH shield generator thing. dang pirase dont die
How can you know what you prefer without giving the other options a fair shot?
I have given the other options a fair shot. I played with the popular control scheme (free-aim on, advanced sensetivity) for several hours of the game and hated it.

I wish they just had a fine tuning option for the controls (like a sensitivity slider). The advanced setting is nice sometimes but other times it causes issues for me and the medium and beginner are so slow I feel like I'm waiting 3-5 seconds to do a 90 degree turn.
Free aim is somewhat needed though (as apparently the developers knew so force it on for certain boss encounters).

?
I tried advanced sensetivity at the beginning of the game, didn't like it, and have been playing on the middle sensetivity setting since..... 'nuff said?....
i did, i downed it to basic for better jumping acuracy in the PH shield generator tower. discovered that worked better after getting tagged with anti/insta hyper bombs. and both at the same time.
yeah, they sometimes throw grenades that put you in full coruption and sometimes throw anti hyper grenades. i got hit with both at the same time. while i was in hyper. i lost hyper, lossing one tank and went right back in, lossing another.
The hyper gernades IIRC don't use up another energy tank, they simply shove you full of more phazon then you can handle which why you just go into a corrput hypermode, i love it when that do that.
Oh dam i never new that, i must have collected some energy at the right time to fool me to look like it didn't waste one. One Question, when your in hypermode and you gain health orbs do they go into your etank so when you go out of hypermode it fills it back up by what ever amount?
So lets say im in hypermode and i deplet my tank. Before i did that i grabbed a 100 energy unit. So when i come out of hypermode will i've basically get my energy tank back?
Are you guys sure about the phazon grenade auto-corruption costing energy? 'Cause I'm sure it doesn't. Every time the fools hit me with one of those things, I laugh myself stupid -- they've given me my uber-attacks for free, just on the off chance I'll die by not unleashing enough utter destruction. I'd boot up my Wii to check, but it's way over there.
OT: I stuck with the Prime 1/2 system. I tried free-aim but found it too hard to use; one of these days I'll try again. Anyone else think the name "Lock-On Free-Aim" is really confusing?
