Do you ever wanted to lock your own project so people can't look at it with SMILE? Well, you got it! Today, I would like to present you with my Locking patch. All it does is to lock your rom so people can't cheat or modified with SMILE. You first patch it on your finished rom and then make a patch to submit for this site with IPS program. I hope you guys appreciate of my patch. Enjoy!

By the way, this patch is unheadered.

Look, all you need to do is corrupt the ROM to lock it. And it's too easy to reverse that patch, especially since you only change a single byte. Not to mention you'd still be able to open the ROM in SMILE v0.1 anyways. It's also worth mentioning that deprotecting Redesign or Impossible won't accomplish much for you, it has an ever higher leveled protection (I would know, it took me a week to completly deprotect those two games)

Ummm. If everyone knows how to lock and unlock a Rom, doesnt that make locking Roms useless. I'm sure Archeron or someone will close this thread eventually.

On another side, couldnt you have made this topic a month ago BEFORE I spent a week trying to figure out how to lock them?

aigamer, please, please take that patch down. The IPS format is very simple and not encrypted in any way, so it would take a mere glance in a hex editor, or even just a log file, to find out exactly how the patch works and therefore how to lock/unlock the ROM.

From the replies I take it that this thread is completely pointless. I'm going to lock it, but if someone believes this thread actually deserves existing, feel free to toss a PM my way and explain why it should be unlocked. I'm not impossible.
