i'd say they were saying that coming into the "saturn era" :P
n64 was an embarrassment from the start (not to mention the whole year it was delayed). i have to agree with l.faia in that the ds appears to have the psp owned backwards and forwards. not to mention the fact that it's being released before the competition, not the other way around.
The N64 had a disappointing launch. For years, Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye was all it had going for it. Like the Gamecube, it had a weak start and got better over time. The Sega Saturn was doing very well at the time with games like NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter, and so on, and then Final Fantasy VII arrived, and the rest is history.
The DS looks very different. And that's to be expected, since this is the handheld market, where Nintendo does not fuck around. On the other hand, some people on GameFAQs are already comparing the PSP to the N-Gage.

I actually loved the N64 games, i managed to grab around 25 during htat consoles lifetime, and i never owned goldeneye somehow.
Then again, i'm going to surpass 50 gamecube games this year....
Note: 700th post.
Another note/apology: I found an article that mentioned Pokemon Pear/diamond, I suppose they do exist afterall. STill quite foolish to mention them already, but, online is a gigantic possibility for them. I expect the info will be completely quiet till E3.
Oh? No interest in Metroid Prime Hunters, Super Mario 64 DS, Dragon Warrior Monsters, Mario Kart, Mega Man Battle Network, Viewtiful Joe, Wario Ware, or Zelda?

Except you didn't mention any of those except SM64. And she doesn't like SM64.

Because I was talking about launch titles earlier. She expressed interest in FF3j, which isn't a launch title, so I asked her why she wasn't interested in other games currently in development.

No. Multiplayer Metroid has never interested me. And if it did, MP2 would be enough.
No. I haven't played Mario 64 since 1996. Why would I want to buy it now and not play it for another 8 years.
No. I did not really like the first Dragon Warrior Monsters game; I'm not a fan of Pokemon-type games.
No. I did not like the last attempt at a Mario Kart game on a portable, and have not played Double Dash.
No. I only like the older Mega Man games, like Mega Man 2-4 and Mega Man X1. And that style of Mega Man game is what I like, not something different that has to do with Mega Man characters.
Never played Viewtiful Joe. I'd rather play it on my PS2 or Gamecube or whatever home system it is on instead.
Never played Wario Ware. Not really interested.
The last Zelda game that came out that I enjoyed was the rerelease of Zelda 4. Ocarina of Time was a total flop for me, and so I did not bother with Majora's Mask nor Wind Waker. I really didn't have fun playing through Oracle of Seasons, and so when I tried going through the 2nd quest through Ages, I said these games kinda suck and sold them.
So I reiterate, all that interests me on the DS is Final Fantasy 3.
The only games in that list I had heard of were MPH and SM64. I don't know what's a launch title or not in either region. I don't know much about what's going on with the system on the whole.
I just know I need to buy FF3 and hope I can play that on a US DS when I import the game.
It's not that I don't like Mario 64, I just got burnt out on it my first time through and have had no real reason to play the game again (exactly what happened with Yoshi's Island, yet I still did not learn).
Theres a new yoshi's island based game for the DS as well, interests me more than any other title.
That siad, you will be happy to know the DS is completely and totally region free, just like the GBA was, so you could import from anywhere and be ablle to play it.
