Right... I'm compiling an NES tape with some runs... some new records, some not. I decided to get a time for this game, just to see where I stack up, and I've got most of it down, including Tourian, except for this roadblock.

Is there some secret or technique that I'm not aware of that makes killing Kraid with bombs any easier? How are you supposed to go about it? As it stands I go in with 299 energy and... he kills me. -_-

You're nuts.  I avoid killing Kraid until I've collected everything I can, and sometimes even then I have to get the E-Tank in his room.

Precursor
Two energy tanks (w/o the one in his room) and teh Varia should do the trick. Just bomb away! And if you go down to 50 energy, try to grab the E-Tank in the room.

The Varia Suit isn't an option in this run. :(

Why not do Ridley first and use Missiles? Then it becomes infinitely easier... and the run is more fluid.

Well, I took a few tries, and I think I've found somkething of a technique that works, so I've been able to pull it off more often. I'll keep working on it.

Fight Kraid and when you get low on life grab the E tank for a quick refill.
