I saw him in a miniboss sprite sheet and I don't remember fighting him.

AFAIK, Nintendo planned to have Crocomire in it but changed their mind & deleted/moved the sprites to the trash can inside the cart. But they never emptied the trash can. That's why people have found the sprites on the cart via a GameShark or some other utility.

If you've played SM,the Crocomire battle is INSANELY easy for a mini-boss fight. In fact,Crocomire could've been a normal enemy at the level of difficulty HE'S on. Laughing
