I'm a bit surprised this place is still up and running. Hell, thriving even.
Anyway, a bit of a reintroduction here. I haven't logged in in...shit, seven years, I think? It's pretty neat to see some familiar faces are still around and active after all that time.
Hey, not quite new; I've been lurking for ages. Figured it probably won't kill me to say something. I'm currently looking in to running MZM 100% and Prime 2 100%, though the latter looks insane. I've also ran SM 100%, Mario 64 16-star and Bioshock Infinite Any%.
I'm also a games development student working with Unreal Engine 4.
Hi! I'm Khouji, I played Metroid when I was in college. Hmmm that was like 12 years ago. I used to play this before my exam to relieve some of my stress. Please welcome me!
I should probably have joined this site like 50 million years ago. By that I mean around 2005, which is when I discovered the Metroid speedrunning scene and started watching Metroid speedruns and spoiling myself on games I had never played, so much so that I only in recent years realized how sequence is actually meant to work for a first-time playthrough of Super Metroid. Oops.
Anyway, I'm also known as GMH. I used to hang out a lot on the M2K2 IRC channel. I also remember back in the day when Red Scarlet was the record-holder for Super Metroid.
I've played Metroid 1, II(RoS), SMet, Fusion, ZM, and about half of Prime. And also AM2R, SMet Eris, and a whole bunch of other non-linear exploration (i.e. "metroidvania") games. Platformers, especially 2D platformers, are pretty much one of my two most familiar genres of games.
So, I'm finally here, about 12 years late! Oh well. Hello.
