I haven't been here in a while. Just re-introducing myself. It's been exactly a year now since I moved out of my old place with Nate. Since then, the sex has been better because now I actually get to participate in it instead of spectate.

By the way, I'm in Houston August 11-16. Find me.

Welcome back.
i think there's a pretty good chance of me never seeing houston again. :/

Oh, don't be all like that.  Actually, this is news to me, where are you now?
same place i have been most of the time for the past three years. lubbock.

and she is leaving houston by the fall, so there is no reason to ever go back there now.

actually, things aren't that dismal at all, due to some things that are supposed to happen a year from now, but still, just saying that i don't see any reason to go to houston now.

If you're not going to get off your flickerbat and come to Houston, I'm driving to Lubbock myself and dragging you out of your room to Outback so you can eat your flickitty flickerbat Kid Mac.
free food!! :D
Just remember, I'm in Tomball!  Ah, the good old days.  I remember living down on Antoine, before it got too ghetto.  Been living in and around the Spring/Tomball area for about 11 years now.  The humidity is horrible, and I really don't understand why people in other places complain about heat or any type of weather.  This is miserable, because we get 100 degree days, and then the humidity makes it absolutely absurd.  Makes for a nice, sweaty pancake of a day, although I've heard that the humidity is supposedly good for your skin.  Go figure.

Woah, do I know you? Or something? Because I'm from the Spring area (went to Klein Forest High School).
I went to Klein Oak, and graduated last year.  I never really knew anyone from Klein Forest, although I do remember freshman year at homecoming (the only one I went to) your team beat us, and the only good player we had was this guy Drew.  That kid was a genious.  He was like 3 years ahead of his class, and he was one of the best athletes around.  Can't remember his last name at the moment.  I'm Josh, by the way.  You might be able to find me in our yearbook, if you know someone that went to KO.
Hiya everyone!  My name is Ian, or Spectere, or whatever you want to call me, and I'm addicted to Metroid (gee, shock).

I have been playing since I bought Metroid Fusion for my GBA soon after its release.  I played through it, did one of those "omfg too hrd" tantrums, and put it away.

A bit later on, I got a GameCube with Metroid Prime.  Played it for a while, got lost, put it away.

Yeah, I know, I used to suck.

Then suddenly had the urge to play it a few months ago.  I did much better than I did before, and came to REALLY like the game.  I started playing through Prime kind of casually (and still am -- I haven't beaten it yet, heh), finding that I was doing a bit better at finding my way around that, too.

I ended up picking up Zero Mission when I bought my DS (up until that point I had only beaten Fusion once, with a patetic 4:06 time and a 40% item completion rate).  I beat Zero Mission a bit faster in comparison, with a 3:30 time.

After picking up some tricks that I've both figured out myself and saw on here I improved ZM to 1:03 and Fusion to 1:21 (100% at 2:28), a far cry from my previous scores. :)  My current goals are to beat Prime (heh) and to get sub-hour times on both ZM and Fusion.

I've also started playing Super Metroid (emulated, unfortunately, I don't own a SuperNES) after getting a PS2-like controller for my computer.  I'm also in the process of hunting down a real SNES and cartridge -- here's hoping. :)

Metroid aside, I enjoy playing music games (primarily DDR, beatmania IIDX, Pop'n Music, StepMania, and Gitaroo Man) and am pretty decent at them (except for Gitaroo Man -- I suck horribly at that game XD).  I also like programming, and know Visual Basic pretty well, can make some magic happen with PHP and MySQL, and am kinda so-so-ish with C/C++.  I also enjoy working with the text-based game creation systems MegaZeux and ZZT.

I'm also 20 years old, go to ITT Technical Institute, work at McDonald's, blah blah blah boring stuff.
sub hour in zm is going to be a lot easier than sub hour in fusion. good luck on both, though.

and welcome to the forum.

Heh, I know, believe me. XD

I think I might try lowering my 100% time on Fusion rather than trying to whizz through it -- running through ZM is a lot more fun for me.

Although I like ZZT, I couldn't make a decent game for it to save my life (not that I have tried at all >.>).
65% chance?  Way to insult me. *leaves*

(kidding, of course. :P)

I'm definitely going to stick around.  I like how this forum is run; sorta strict, the staff doesn't take any crap, everyone is helpful, etc.

That's okay.  I've been playing with it since 1992 and never made anything substantial for it. >_<

My only attempt was something called "F-Zero ZX". I never got past the menu screen...

Well, hello!

My name is Doctor Omega.  I'm a Moderator of the SCU forums and a HUGE metroid fan.  I should have created this account a LOONG time ago, as SCU and m2k2 are the best metroid sites around.  Being a member of both is a priviledge.  :D

You'll probably be seeing a lot of me here as well as Moderating the boards of SCU.  Wink
