DON'T INTRODUCE YOURSELF IF YOU AREN'T FLICKERBATING NEW!
Thank you.
Heh, I chuckled. Anyway, hello to everyone. To start off, my journey in finding this site was rather strange! Being a long time user over at Gamefaqs, I found myself at the Super Metroid board just after playing SM on ZSNES (this was pretty much my first time seriously playing the game, although I played it briefly back when it was new on a friend's SNES). I was reading a topic about different people's best finishing times, and I thought that the speed run archive might have some SM runs (I've seen the original Half-Life's speed run off the archive). Sure enough, I found that there are several, and during that same search for speed runs on google I came across this site.
I'll tell you this: I watched Red Scarlet's run before reading anything about SM on this website. To say the least, my jaw was hitting the floor, and I was mesmerized throughout the entire run. After taking in the fact that this was a girl playing a video game with nothing but raw skill and hard work, I found myself here, reading about the different tricks in the game.
This was, by far, the most interesting discovery I've ever made in my gaming life (since I had a Genesis when I was little, getting into SNES was tough, because only one of my friends had an SNES). Out of everything I've experienced from Genesis to modern consoles and PC gaming, this has become my little hidden chaos emerald of a find. Thanks to Super Metroid for enlightening my very young 19 year old life!
And yes indeed greetings, newcomer! Of course there is no reason why you should not leave now after your first post, like so many others, but it would be better if you did not.
Final707 is a friend of mine just to let you know. You have to get use to his bad grammer as he mispels frequently. Me and him are best buds. Though the only bad part is at school we arent in any classes whatsoever, excluding lunch.
Anyway, I'm really sick of people going around being grammar Nazis, so I'm really going to buckle down on that. If people are just stupid, or if it takes actual effort to read the post, it's pretty bad, but otherwise we don't have to get all hyped up about it.
ooh, a fellow houstonian. what part of town do you live in? and welcome to the forum.
I've been living in the Tomball area for about ten years. I use to live over on Antoine until my family moved here just before third grade started. I was stunned when I found out that CJayC was living in Tomball before CNet bought his site or whatever. Don't tell me you live in the Spring or Tomball area too, now?!
hmm, cool. well, i haven't lived in houston for almost three years, but i did spend the first 18 years of my life there. i've been back many times for various reasons, though. when i did live there, i lived on the southeast side, first league city, then clear lake (i went to clear lake high school). and wow, didn't know that about cjayc. i guess now i know why gamefaqs is so ghetto. :) haha, j/k.
