Hello fellow Metroid fans...

I just joined today although I have frequented the main site and the board as a guest off and on for a while. This is definitely one of the better Metroid sites out there. Thanks to the person(s) that put Metroid2002 online.

I'm presently 32 and have liked Metroid for as long as I can care to remember, but can only judge the series by playing only the original Metroid, Metroid II, and Super Metroid. I would play the other games but became a slave to PlayStation consoles after my N64 got stolen centuries ago. I don't hate Nintendo after having more than good experience with NES, SNES, the original Gameboy and the N64(why was there never a Metroid 64 or something). I would love to get a Gameboy Advance and a Gamecube to play some of the newer(although slowly becoming aged) Metroid titles but I'm a little cash strapped(live off of checks from Uncle Sam) to buy these. I just went for nearly broke to by me a 160GB PS3 earlier this year(my checking account now pretty much has peanuts in it). I'm not sure about a Wii. That one never seemed to catch my interest. One thing I like about the Wii is the Virtual Console and you can download and play games for older Nintendo systems. I still play Super Metroid on an emulator. Still wish the old NES, SNES, and Gameboy didn't have to fry. Emulators are nice but they're sure no substitute for the real thing. I like the PS3. It's nice having one thing to play CDs, regular DVDs, Blu-ray discs(which the Wii doesn't to my knowledge) as well as for games. Just wish the PS3 was backwards compatible with PS2 games(you could I suppose with modding the system) and not just PS1 games.

Other than play games, I play guitar and bass, listen to music, surf the web everyday, and watch TV. I wish I could find a job(good luck there) to supplement what the governmnt gives me. I thought I would say that very last bit before anybody asked if I do anything better with my time. I should add that, my dad never shared me and my brother's enthusiasm for video games. My dad told me that, "There's more to life than video games"(mostly when he would goad me to help out with chores and I'd rather play games). My dad's words-of-wisdom might hold merit today...but when you're jobless what better do you have to do than play games.

welcome to the forum! i'd say the best reason to get a wii is for virtual console, particularly if you're at all interested in homebrew stuff— wii hacking is a lot of fun.

Playing games doesn't mean you're a dork. Video games are a form of entertainment, just like movies and music. Some people just have more or less trouble realizing it.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!

It just feels like over time, older people playing games has become like many sports - it has no place. It's a shame, but nowadays sports stars are often deemed 'too old' once they hit their thirties. Football, for example, used to be full of men in their thirties and even their forties, but now it's a rarity. Gaming is the same, in that there used to be bearded men playing games for marathon lengths of time in dimly lit arcades, but nowadays it's stereotypically aimed at those under about 12, with offerings outside this box being in the minority.

I don't think I introduced myself.
Hi, my name is Chris. I am in 11th grade *Hurry Up Already*. I recently took a break with ASM for Sonic and would like to learn asm more than what I know. As you know, before May (This year) I went into the hospital for a collapsed lung. We still don't know what caused my right lung to collapse. I went through two surgeries and the second one worked. I went in for an x-ray for my spine and they found my lung down. Morphine didn't agree with me at all. I got sick 3 times in one day. My summer dragged on and became very boring. I recently started playing Super Metroid Impossible again. I still suck at it. I am a very big fan of Sonic The Hedgehog. I will try not to go overboard with Sonic. I would like to learn more about asm so I know more about it.
I do have a Nintendo wii. If you want my number, give me a shout.

I speak french and I got NTSC versions of all Metroid games. And French version is just so wrong... Anyway...

So yeah, I speak french, I'm from Québec in Canada. En effet, je parle français.

"In regard to your question, Metroid Prime Trilogy is a single disc containing three complete and separate games: Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Due to the limited amount of space available on the disc, we simply could not include French versions of the three games. Because provincial law prohibits the sale of non-French games when a French version exists somewhere in the world, we cannot sell this game in Quebec. Also, I can confirm that for various reasons (time, cost, etc.), we have no plans to release a French version of this title in Quebec."

Yeah, I'm not supposed to have Metroid Prime Trilogy... but I GOT IT! In my local Gamestop at the release date! I also ended (on their real consoles or VC) :

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption
Metroid 3 : Super Metroid

So, I'm pro but I don't like to skip items or doing speed runs except if I need to do it for a bonus or whatever. I just take all the time I got. So, I hope I got the right place.
