If you like MM speed runs, TheLag, there are some great Mega Man Zero runs at MegaZpeed.  There's one for each of the three Zero games, though the MMZ1 run isn't for speed, it's for survival (it's a single-segment run with no deaths, no Cyber-Elves, no ranks lower than S, not even any leveling up between missions).  I suggest getting the "UltraQuality" versions -- they're .VMV emulator-movie files, so the download is tiny.

Personally, while I love MM games even more than I love Metroid, I have no interest in speed-running Mega Man.  That's not what the series is about to me.  In the original series and most of the X series, there's a reason you were never timed: it's all about exploration and experimentation.  Try a Master Weapon here, see if a pit scrolls there... that's why I didn't like it when X5 started the idea of ranking you on every stage.  I'm not sure why I don't mind as much in the Zero series; it just seems to fit better there.  The MMZ incarnation of Zero fights with style and finesse, so naturally he'd want to make good time, take as little damage as possible, and so forth.

As for Metroid, the one run you must not miss is Sesshoumaru's 1% demonstration in Fusion.  It's incomplete and likely always will be, but it's the ultimate -- Sess plays Fusion like Babe Ruth played baseball.  He takes absolutely no damage without even slowing down, and gets amazing times.  You can find his run in m2k2's Fusion section.
Hi, I'm Darth Nat.  A few of you might recognize me from over at Samus.co.uk.  Anyways, I finally got around to joining because I was a little disheartened that there really wasn't a whole lot of discussion about MP2 speed running at the SCU forum.  Now, I'm far from a good speed runner (I think the best Metroid speed run I've ever done was a 1:49 minute run in Super Metroid, hehe), but I enjoy reading about the latest and greatest speed running tips.  My good friend BoostR told me that a lot of discussion of that sort of thing as well as sequence breaking goes on around these parts and it would certainly help me improve my game, so to speak.  So, I joined.  :)

Cool, glad to have you, Darth Nat. It's always good to have another person who's really interested in speed running at this forum.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Oh hey, I know that guy. :o
*puts hands up* I have arrived * puts hands down* Most people probably know me from SCU but since this place is mentioned (altough not that much hehe) I finally decided to take a look in here. It seems alright though so I joined up and well here I am.

Welcome, WTP. If you stay here long enough, you just might like these boards better than SCU's...
i like your avatar, w.trooperplushie.
Whose that njahnke guy... never seen him around here before.  *shrugs*
It took me a few looks to see what your avvy was of WTP, kinda like a magic eye... once you see it, you can't unsee it.  It's cool though.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Magic Eye?  It's just an Alien.
Yeah, I know, but when I first looked at it, I saw the white area around the alien like a fence or something and the hole near the top of the aliens mouth like a head and was trying to make sense of it... then I reversed my vision and saw it.
I've been keeping up with this site/board since I first found out about Radix's 1:37 run off a Diablo 2 board I read, and just recently registered with the release of MP2, with the hopes that I may be able to contribute something to the effort, before all the easy tricks get found :P  (most likely already late for this, but oh well.)

I'm not much of a speed runner, but it's something I try (and fail, usually) in my spare time.  Still, it's a fun thing to try, and this site (and SDA) has greatly helped me out so far with my attempts, so here I am.
Welcome to the fun and games of hell, enjoy your stay.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Courtesy of Soupy's bad spelling and mangadood's lack of common grammatical sense.  Enjoy your stay.  :D

That was harsh, and yet perfectly justified and fair.  Damn oxymoron.

Neurozone, try juggling instead of speedrunning in your spare time.  It's a hell of a lot less stressful.  :D
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I dunno.  What if Neuro only has one arm?

Juggle two balls in one hand.  It's not hard.  :P

Don't be like that.
I'm not quite sure I should post it in here, since I'm not exactly "new" per se, but I have a feeling that a "I have returned thread" would sort of ruin the point of this thread.  So I'll just leave it at this:

'sup y'all ^_^
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I think I remember you.

...

wait...

yes.  Yes I do.
Glad to see I'm not totally forgotten, even if the the veracity of the rememberance seems to be somewhat questionable ^_^

Pray tell, where should I head to find out where assistance is needed? ^_^
