Well I"m a big fan of Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 :P and was just getting into mapping when I saw that no one ever made a map based around metroid :( of any kind....being the metroid fan I am I thought and pick a map based around the space station intro in super metroid :) Be warned :P this was only my 3rd map I was still a newbie back then ^_^ I"m planning to remake this map again or just do a totally different map....so if you got any request go ahead and post them :)

^_^ wow thanks for the great feedback :) I did my best being a newbie to make that map :P But trust me the next ver of it I work on will blow this one out of the water ^_^ it also have metroid music :P some very good music if i must add ;) that fits the mood very well ^_^

and great job with the particle effects, especially. i think a lot of people make the mistake of not putting in what's implied when converting 2d maps to 3d.

That is... amazing. I would download it, but I uninstalled UT2003 to conserve disk space (stupid 18GB hard disk) so I could have more speed run videos :D .

Is Ridley hiding behind that metroid container, waiting to appear when you try to grab it?

Now what would be even better is one based on an area of Zebes (Ridley's lair?); that one's great, but it's linear, so a little lacking in play potential. It might kill the 56k people though. (probably does already)

Or even, if a master of mods were to take up this task, putting Metroid bosses into UT. It's possible: look at the Titans mod for the original UT. In CTF you could have the bases guarded by a Kraid or a Ridley!

May this herald a new kind of UT maps: those created to represent a sidescrolling game map!

Perhaps I'm going a bit too far, but this has a LOT of potential...

In the origal version of the map I was working on it did have Ridley hidding where u could only see his eyes glowing and his craws over the metroid case..............but had to remove it I couldn't do the full body of Ridley ...I can't model yet.. so I had to remove it...you know u would jump all over ridley if he was there :P In the update I hope to add a animated Ridley ...and other cool effects if I can later on :P but the next update to the map will just be better look and speed :)

Yeah, I would think having Ridely in there would be silly if it's a deathmatch arena. Hopefully it's as playable as it is gorgeous.

Its a pretty fun map including with alot of ppl ITS very big :P next ver i'm going to scale it down a bit so I did make it pretty big :P only issue alot of ppl had was the fact of gravite in the map ........you can't normally make jumps like samus in Unreal Tournament....so I add gravite making it easy to jump from one place to another but only draw back when u fell you hover or float to the floor >_> Still trying to figure a way to fix that problem....

uploading video size going to be around 6 to 7 megs I did my best to keep it as small as I could sorry I couldn't include the music with the video :( and quailty of video pretty low ....didn't want to leave 56k user from downloading the video.

woah... awesome! Do a lot of people ask you about the name? in the game? (do they have a chat system?) *REALLY wishes she could get this game but saw it in store and decided parents would kill her :? * very nice... Its a first person shooter game it does have a chat system and umm i'm a lil confused what u mean by do alot of ppl ask you about the name o_O if u mean the name of the map never had a problem by it :P

Can you modify everything in that map? Or do you pick objects and put them in? That first metroid containment thing needs to be shattered if it's possible.

It's not spelling lessons. It's anti-abbreviation lessons.

I might just make "u" a censored word, being that I hate it so much. But to make it censor to "you" would be too easy and encourage people to use it. It would have to be to something unrelated. Like "muffins."
